A6898VRV Admiral Range - Instructions

I removed the element by removing two screws. I discarded the old element and installed the new one using two screws - just as shown in the video. I ordered the part and received it in just a few days. The price was good. Very happy.

Parts package contained no instructions. Found all instructions on internet. I used Phillips head to remove two screws on anchor plate of Long Oven Sensor. Located at upper left, back corner of oven; access to screws is not simple/easy. Screws back out w/o difficulty. Pull/extract sensor harness through hole[back of oven] which required pushing aside insulation. The harness barely fits thru hole in oven back metal wall; I recommend using needle nose pliers ( which I ended up doing ) for ease of extraction. Disconnect harness plastic interlok clips. Perfect reconnection of new clip harness with ease. Reverse procedure to complete installation/repair. Done in just over 35 minutes due to wrestling with harness extraction through minimal hole opening. Failure occurred on Thanksgiving Day with 22lbs turkey in oven. Top of turkey contacted sensor tip which eventually caused sensor fault; result was scorched upper breast and oven shut down [safety by design]. Cook top was still operative; clock and all readings on digital control panel ceased. With new 'long oven sensor' installed - good as new. Will be sure to buy turkey(s) under 20lbs in future. Remove racks, remove 2 screws, pull element out, disconnect connectors, reinstall new element.

Removed the back of the stove, un-pluged the sensor wires, removed the sensor from inside the oven. installed the new sensor, pluged in the wires, and replaced the back of the stove. A phillips screwdriver was the only tool needed.

I ordered the temperature sensor after watching the video and seeing how easily it could be changed out. Unfortunately, they don't tell you that it may be necessary to access the part from the back. When I tried removing the sensor from inside the oven the connection separated before getting to the hole. I tried for 4 days to try to fish out the other end. Finally, I had my brother help me remove the oven from the wall and take the back off at which time we were able to connect the new sensory. It turns out that the wiring is on the upper right hand corner of the oven and the sensor is on the upper left hand corner and the wiring is rather short. I am a 64 year old female and do the majority of repairs around the house myself, but due to the weight of removing the oven I enlisted the help of my brother. After removing from the wall the rest was a breeze. Just wish the videos or written info on the website was a little more clear as to the different ways of accessing the damaged part.

I followed a video on google and once I shut the power off, it took me less than 15 minutes to fix. Saved me atleast $30.00 for a Home Warranty Serv. Charge.

I removed the old sensor via the two screws holding it in, unplugged it and replaced it with a new one.

Opened box took out part installed on 5 minutes easy as pie

Removed two screws on each end of the bottom element, removed blade wires from element and removed element. Put new element in to place in oven, put blade wires on to end of element and put in the two screws that held the element in place. Watched and followed the video instructions on the website. Very easy to repair.

When we received the new element for the oven. We followed the directions that where given to us and had no problem installing the new element. It took no time before the the oven was working again. thank you for posting the directions to make the job go easier.

Removed two screws holding cooktop to oven. Unlike the video, the cooktop was not detachable as the wires were hard-wired to the range, so I had to prop the top up with a 6" block of wood and was working upside down. I replaced the element and everything worked just fine.

Disassembled upper unit with Phillips screwdriver. Removed 2 "plug connectors" from element switch. Replaced switch. Plugged both connectors back onto switch. Reassembled the upper portion of the range. Tested and OK

KILL POWER FIRST. I should have read other entries on here prior to starting. I would have learned that one leg of the element is always hot. Fortunately it arced against the oven, and all I had to do was replace the terminal. Could have been much worse. Unplug range or shut off circuit breaker prior to doing any electrical work. Verify 0 voltage before starting if you shut off the breaker.

During normal use, the heating element on my electric range burst into flames one day. Judging from the internet, this is actually fairly common! It's an electrical fire, so it's important to shut the oven off at once, and not a bad idea to cut the circuit breaker immediately. Then put the fire out and unplug. Remove what's left of the old element by unscrewing 2 mounting screws where it enters the oven rear wall. Taking door off of oven made it easier to lean in there. Then pull the crimp connections apart to get the wires off of each end. There are videos on youtube and partselect.com showing how. One thing they don't mention is that the wires may want to disappear back into the hole in the oven wall once they're loose. So hang onto them. I put a piece of duct tape around each one to keep it from slipping back into those small holes. When the new element arrived, I just reconnected the two crimp connectors and re-mounted the two screws. Of course, make sure range is unplugged while you're in there. Those two wires have 220V on them. I'm also never again going to leave my range on, either in baking or cleaning mode, when I'm not home. That fire was scary!
