Moved fridge out from wall, unplugged power cord. Laid on floor, removed 6 screws from cover. Removed one threaded bolt to allow assembly to slide out. Removed special nut, and took fan off. Removed 3 motor mounting bolts. Unscrewed 2 wire nuts, and untwisted wires. (option 1, no ground) Vacuumed entire area around motor. Used 3 bolts to mount motor to holder assembly, and special nut to install fan. Stripped wires back about 3/4 inch. Twisted two wires together CW, and installed new wire nuts. Slid motor assembly back into slot,(keep wires away from blades) and used one threaded bolt to secure assembly. Reinstalled cover plate with 6 screws. Plugged power cord in to test air flow (out through cover vents). Moved fridge back into place. The loud whirring noise did not stop for a day; then quiet!

Replaced the ice maker. I have a 3 door refrig. It has a bottom drawer freezer. Remove the freezer door to make this much simpler. On my unit, the ice maker is installed with three screws, rather than one and two clips. Check before you try to pull it out. You should unplug the old ice maker from the refrig, leaving the wires on the old ice maker. It's much easier to remove the old wiring harness from the old ice maker once you've removed the front plastic cover on the unit. Both plugs on the harness have clips on them to prevent accidental disconnections. Be sure to find and press the clip releases before you pull on the wires. Nut driver makes this job easier than screw driver. You only need one size for all screws. I used the old ice maker bottom mounting clip rather than trying to bend the new one to shape. Much easier. My old ice maker had an extra wiring clip, which I moved to the new unit before the install. There is one wiring clip to hold the temperature probe, and another just to keep the wires neat. Letting the old ice maker front plastic cover warm up a bit before you try to pry it off for reuse is a good idea. Less chance of cracking. Two hours after the install, I had new ice in the ice bin.

Just followed directions.Which were clear as could be. I think it took longer to clear the freezer, than to replace the ice maker. Thanks so much.

Unplugged refrigerator and truned off water supply. I then removed old ice maker by first removing screw holding mounting bracket with 1/4 inch nut driver. Then I carefully pulled up and out on the ice maker to remove it from mounting brackets on the side of unit. Once free, I was able to access the wiring harness in the back and remove it from the unit by compressing the clips and gently pulling with an even pressure. Now that the old ice maker was detached I took it to my counter and removed the on/off switch rocker bar and wiring harness. I attached these two pieces to the new ice maker. I then plugged the wiring harness back into unit and lined up the mounting brackets on the side wall and did a reverse tilt to downward pressure onto brackets until they clicked in securely. The last step was to screw in the mounting bracket with nut driver. Turned on water line and plugged machine back in. It took about an hour and a half before it produced its first harvest of ice, but has been working like a charm since.

Watch the video on the sight and that was almost all I really needed. The only thing I would add is that it took me some time to get the drawer freezer door off. Lift the front straight up. Don't pull the door slides out.

Was very happy with the experience of using your company. The man on the phone was helpful. The icemaker shipping was only about $7 and got here in a couple of days. I liked the video, and then including a link to the video with the on-line confirmation. Was not quite sure it was the icemaker or the metering valve on the back, as the latter would make a little grinding noise, but the symptoms matched the dumping of water into the bin. After replacing, everything is working well. The only difficulty was the wire harness plugs into the other side of the back of the box than in the video and I found it a little difficult to route the wires correctly as they seemed too short. But a little trial and error solved that. My model is freezer on the bottom and I didn't notice that the little detachable funnel wasn't quite seated and it was necessary to reinstall, making sure the funnel stayed in place correctly. That was my own error. My overall experience was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend PartSelect to anyone with an icemaker problem. I knew the repair wasn't difficult. It was a matter of finding the replacement part. Luckily, I found the part via the internet on your site. Lucky for me, there was an installation video!! These videos are worth 1000 bucks!! Never have encountered a site with installation videos before. It gave me complete insight as to how the job was sequenced. I'm a very visual person, so videos are the perfect helper for me. With fewer and fewer affordable local service companies around to fix problems like mine, your site gave me the complete confidence to easily switch out the condensor fan. I completed the repair for about $63.00. Your site ROCKS! Keep up the repair videos because they are awesome and extremely helpful. I felt like your pricing was competitive for this item. Quick repair especially with YouTube video; took less that 15 mins including moving ribbon cable & fill wire. Saved at least $200.

Simple replacement of the icemaker solved the problem. I suspect the icemaker was overfilling resulting in water flowing into the ice reservoir.

I found the condenser fan was not working so I bought a new condenser fan kit and installed it. Fixed!

This was about 10 time easier than I had expected (I'm in my 30s, a mom). I put this off for almost a year groaning that I would have to spend tons of money on a repair man. It was really no big deal and took under 30 minutes. I used the video from PartsSelect, and it was right on. I was initially worried because the description from the website said that the new ice maker didn't come with the 'harness" and I had no idea what that was. Its just the little set of wires that easy unclips from the old unit and pops right into the new unit. Mine was reusable, so pretty easy. The only minor issue I had was that the new bracket didn't line up comepletely with the hole in the fridge where the screw went in, but I solved that with adding a skinny washer. Would definetly recommend any common-sensed person to do this repair yourself.

I couldn't believe how easy it was since I am not the handiest guy. All it look was to switch over the wires and screw it to the inside of the freezer. I was back in business.

Shut off water and unplug fridge. Remove ice drawer. Unscrew one short nut underneath icemaker, and the two longer ones holding it to the wall of the freezer. Now remove white cover. It just needed a little jiggling w a flat head screwdriver to loosen it. Now you can see where the wire harness is connected, use the same flathead to depress the plastic pin holding it in place, and slide it out. Remove the wire harness from the metal clip on side of icemaker. Now you should be holding the old icemaker in your hands. Remove the bale carefully. Now install the bale into the new icemaker, while making sure it's in the 'down' or 'on' position. Bring the new icemaker into position, gently snap the wire harness into place, sliding the wire into the clip like it originally was. Fasten the three screws again. Then, finally, snap the white cover back into place. Slide the ice drawer back into position, turn on the water, plug the fridge back in and wait 30-45 minutes for your first batch of new ice cubes.

I watched the video on how to change the ice maker, very easily explained, and removed the old in about 10 minutes.After seeing how the old one came out it only took five minutes to install the new one. The appliance repaircompany wanted$120 just to diagnose the problem,i bought the part from partselect for$104 total. This is the forth time I've used this site and saved a ton of money.
