Igniter insulation had cracked and spark was shorting out on the flame holder whatchmacallit.

The flame holder twists about 1/2 inch to left and lifts off. I removed the two screws that holds the igniter on and removed it and installed the new igniter.
There was one complication: when I put it back together, there was no spark. I removed the ground wire and cleaned and scraped it and replaced it and still no spark. But, for no apparent reason the spark returned and has been okay since.

Igniter Switch on the burner was constantly on

To get to the switch I had to remove the knobs and the front panel of the burner valves. There were some dozen screws, top and bottom holding the panel in-place.
The switch slid off the burner valve stem easily but removing the wires I had to pull with the pliers. There seamed not to be a wire release that I could see.
Replacing the wires was no problem. They slid into place by just pushing them in. Assembly was the reverse.

Simply remove the box containing the two right burners. Access the igniter by removing about 8 screws and pull the coupler for the igniter off with a pair of needel nose pliers. Replace with new igniter using the same tool. Re-assemble the box by screwing in the screws and give it a try. Worked great. Once slight hitch, be sure you don't leave a second screw driving in the box. As it will raddle. So I had to remove and reassemble twice. I'm not a surgeon! Thanks for the fast delivery!

I have a maytag stove and the burner was coroted and it had to be replaced. I went seaching in the Internet for a new stove automatically then I thought maybe I can buy the part so I found this awesome website partselect.com. I was intrigue to see if I can find this part I needed so I put in the model number in an seached and then I placed the order not only for the burner but for the grates as well the website is designed very well! Easy to navigate to find the items your looking for. When I recieved the parts in the mail it took me less than 6 minutes to attach the burner and place the grates on the stove it was a great experience all the way around. This is the second repair to this stove-- A few years ago I went to Parts Select to find a new light panel, and that repair went perfectly. So when we re-did the kitchen I decided that the old stove would look fine so long as we could find some new grates. Custom-sized, nobody had them, but your company found them and shipped them quickly. We thoroughly cleaned the stove and PERFECT! This is a good way to keep stoves and other appliances out of the landfill!! I love it.
