Replaced the Outer tub. Of course, unplug first. Then open the lid, pop out the fabric softener dispenser, then take a socket and remove the bolt. to take out the agitator. Then once the agitator is out, take the lock nut off of the drive block with a punch and hammer. The spanner wrench tool would be perfect, but a punch and hammer gets the job done and in the real world where you can't buy special tools for every job, it's a good compromise. Once you get the lock nut off, take the Inner basket out and take the drive block off and inspect. The drive block is often a cause for a no spin situation as I found out... Look at a picture of a new drive block and if yours doesn't look like a new one, then it's worn and you need a need a new one. Once the drive block is removed wiggle the tub while pulling up and it should slide off. Then, make sure you put a new seal in the new outer tub and reverse the procedure. Don't even bother trying to re-use the old seal, it's not worth it and will probably leak after trying to pry it out of the old tub. I'd also recommend buying a new tube for the bleach dispenser because it's really hard to re-use the old one, but that's why I needed the pliers...It worked, but was quite difficult to remove from the old tub and install in the new one. That's a basic overview of how to do the repair. It wasn't all that hard, and it fixed the washer....after I replaced that worn drive block too :) It's like new again.

I watched a Part Select video on replacing the augitator and just followed the directions to replace the thrust washer (which was showing wear) and the washer. The instructions that came with the thrust washer were helpful as well.

First, I moved the washer with water in it from the wall. Then, I removed two screws with a phillip head screwdriver from the back cover to the controls. Then I used a little bitty wrench to remove two small bolts that also held the back cover of the controls to the rest of the washer. The control panel was all attached, so it had to lay forward on the washer to remove the broken lid switch and then to install the new lid switch. There was one screw that I removed with a phillip head screwdriver. I removed the broken part and placed the new part into the hole. Then I had to move the control panel with limited space to lift the lid of the washer; the part would not fit property without lifting the lid. Once it fit into place, I closed the lid and replaced the screws and bolts. It worked beautifully. Thank you for your online help and the remarks from other people who had previously fix this lid switch.

Leaned the washer back to get at the bottom, removed the water holes, removed the water pump, removed the motor, replaced the direct drive motor coupling. Put it back together and it's all good. No clutch or drive problems. Simple fix.

I generally followed the video. Disconnected the water hoses, removed the front, laid the washer on its back. My water pump is rusted onto the motor shaft so I left it in place. I removed the water pipes from the pump then removed the pump/motor/gearbox as one unit. Watch out for more water than you think being released from the pipes and pump!! Everything works well with the new clutch fitted.

I replaced lid switch. Take off two screws off the back of insterment panel. Unscrew switch and unplug. Then reverse. Easy!!

It was actually much easier than I expected. The worst part was dealing with the gear oil as I drained it to clean out the plastic pieces that came off the gear. To see how to fix things like this, I went to Google, enter my model and what the problem was and watched a repairman do it. It seemed easy and it was.

The clutch itself was fairly easy to repair. I did use some tips from youtube on disassambly, and the enclosed instructions helped to put the clutch in. There were 3 bolts I had to remove to take the drive assembly off, and 1 to pull the agitator out. And putting it back together it went in almost backwards. All in all, this is a fairly simple procedure in taking the time to complete the steps

Replaced the lid switch by pulling the washer out enough to gain access. Not necessary to disconnect the waster hoses. Remove the two screws from the white plastic tabs on the rear of the control panel. Also remove the two screws connecting the control panel from the washer body. Lift the lid slightly and pull the control panel forward. Disconnect the pug into the lid switch and remove the switch. Replace the switch but remember to lift the lid while doing so. Lid has a small arm that must engage the switch correctly. Replace the control panel and reinstall the screws. Repair is very simple.

This was a great buy!!! All the hose clips as well as the hose retainer came installed on the new hose (in the correct location) the hardest part was waiting for the part to arrive...it took me least three 2 minutes to install...if my dog had thumbs he could have replaced the drain hose.

Rubber O ring around the Inner Cap was rotted and busted through. Replaced with new Inner Cap Seal. Easy as pie!

The spin cycle was super slow leaving clothes soaking wet at the end of a full wash cycle. Ordered a clutch repair kit, watched the how to video that was e-mailed to me with my order while I did the repair and got it done in about 45 minutes. This was my first true appliance repair outside of maybe a busted fuse or replacing the heating element in a stove. Never thought taking the motor, transmission and clutch out of the washer and putting all back together would be so very simple. Meanwhile my wife is pissed because she thought she might be able to go get a brand spankin new washer...until I fixed the old one. Thanks for saving me some dough PartSelect.

well my Dearest Kenmore washer was vibrating badly so i looked the part in yoursite of parts select it diagnosed it i ordered the 2 different supension pads relaced then and now my Dearest kemore washer works like new again Thankyou Parts select for all your help and the price was perfect...

Removed the washer enclosure, removed the hoses, cleaned everything, installed the new hoses, reinstalled the enclosure, test run the washer and it's working now.
