I unplugged washer, then, removed the control panel with two screws on back, slid unit back and up. Unscrewed ground screw and unplugged harness, lifted lid and removed switch. In order to re-install lid switch, lid has to be in the up position, otherwise it will not fit properly. Reattach harness and ground screw, then control panel. Plug and go. My wife says that the washer works better than ever. Very easy! Saves money!

Replaced suspension, leveling and tub springs.

I followed the helpful video from PartSelect. Removal and Replacement of the Clutch Assembly was fairly easy. Just make sure you have enough towels to dry up any water that may come out after tipping the washing machine over. After Replacement the washing machine works like new. Thanks PartSelect.

Looked on line and found the cheapest repair for my symptoms seemed to be the tub wear pads. Disconnected the washer, tilted it to where I could inspect the pads and discovered one was missing. So ordered a set, (Only complaint was the shipping was as much as the part). Parts arrived in 2 Days (!). Tilted the washing machine again...reached up with a small flathead screw driver and pryed the old pads off...snapped the new ones on (takes a little pressure, so eat your wheeties)...and job done. Stood everything back up and re-connected hoses, drain and plug...Works like brand new...Unfortunately for the wife who thought she was going to get a new one....LOL

Similar to the youtube repair video, followed it mostly. This model has a different plug in set up on top where the wiring is. Just unplugged a different plug in a different location. The other difference is that I did a lot of dusting and vacuuming of inside parts and around motor. Also used some spray on rust converter on some rust spots then coated those areas with spray paint. Also where wire harness hooks to the frame I taped up a longer section of the wire to keep the wires together so they could move around and not be damaged. The actual repair took about a half hour, but took more time taking the washer outside on porch then back into the house. Out side repair is better because a significant amount of water came out of the washer and drain hose when we tilted it on the back to remove motor and transmission. Just follow the youtube video instructions and most people should have little or no problems doing the job.

I watched the instructional video, and it was spot on. It told me how to from beginning to end and it worked out perfectly. I spent about an hour of my time, spent $38, and my machine is fixed. Luckily enough the washer shown in the demonstration is my exact model, which eliminated any variables I may have come across. The repair was relatively easy and probably could of been done in less time but I took every step slowly to avoid breaking something or leaving something unattached. For the money and time spent on this repair I would certainly recommend this for anyone with a similar issue. After taking the machine completely apart, i found that the suspension pads were still properly functioning. Since i had already purchased them with the tub wear pads, I changed them anyway. The trickiest part for me was pulling the outer tub out because the shaft on my unit was very rusted had a considerable amount of buildup on it. During this step I was very careful to remove all the build up because there is a single rubber seal between the center opening of the tub and the motor shaft. After I made sure the shaft was completely smooth and there were no protrusions I gently rocked the tub back and forth while applying pressure from the underside of the tub, all the while making sure that the seal didn't fold in on itself or stretch in any direction. Other than that, the repair went very quickly and easily . The spanner wrench is a must !!! I actually found it on amazon for about 6 dollars and I'm positive I will find another use for it somewhere down the road. I owe a big thank you to Steve. (the guy in the video) and everyone else from parts select for making laundry day in my house tolerable again !!!

Had a lot of corrosion on the shaft area and had a hard time removing the inner tub but after some WD-40 and unprintable words and labor it popped off. Cleaned everything up, shaft, inner drum and outer drum. After that everything was a piece of cake. Thanks for the help!

removed the two screws that attached the top to the base. lean top back to access the lid switch. install the new one; best to have door open when installing. real easy repair that saved me mucho dinero.

Removed the control panel and the cabanit. Then removed the adjutatior . Removed the motor and gear box slid the old shaft out and put the new one in put back together. Took about one hour .

Unplugged the washer and removed the two screws from the control panel. Raised the control panel and disconnected the wire connector that connected to the top.Then removed the two spring clips that hold the cabinet to the back of the washer. removed the cabinet from the washer that exposed the frame of the washer. I then replaced the broken spring by pushing the tub of the washer as far as it would go and replaced the suspension spring. Then i reinstalled the cabinet and control panel. Everything worked okay. ood as new.

First watched YouTube video "Kenmore/Whirlpool washer not spinning", excellent video .Disconnected water hoses and drain hose. Unplugged the washer from the outlet. Removed the agitator from the washer tub then tipped the washer backwards resting on a secure block of wood for support not fully on the floor. Removed under insulation, removed both water pump hoses. Have towels ready when hoses are removed, there is still water in the hoses. Removed the water pump, disconnected the electrical connector from the pump motor, removed the bolts from the motor that attached the motor clips, removed the motor clips from the bracket and removed the motor assembly. Video shows motor, bracket and gearbox removed as one unit. Very heavy. Remember motor position on the bracket for reassembly, I used yellow marker. Removed the bracket the mounts the motor. Removed the bolts for the gearbox and began to lower the gearbox. The agitator shaft on the gearbox is pretty long so I had to tilt the washer some more to remove. After the gear box was removed I could now see the spin clutch, which according to the video was definitely bad. PartSelect had the correct part, reasonably priced. Ordered normal FedEx delivery, part arrived in 2 business days. Instructions came with the part for very easy installation. Installed the new clutch and reassembled the washer. Before reconnecting the washer hoses and drain, I plugged in the washer, manually placed timer on spin, washer spun, could not see spin but felt washer in spin cycle. Reattached water and drain hoses. Filled washer empty with cold water and placed timer again in spin cycle. Water drained, no leaks under washer or from hoses, spin cycle good. Repair done, works great.

very easy, pop up the top, unscrew 2 screws, unplug switch , plug in new switch replace 2 screws ,put top down,finished

The repair took about an hour. My wife told me the washer was so quite that she had to check and make sure it was running. It was like getting a new washer for less than 30 dollars. I've saved Part Select web site to my favorites and will use your company again.
