Thousand dollars for a new dryer or twenty bucks for a new belt. Thank-you parts select. Ordering was easy and the instructions were bang on!

Both washer and dryer always worked perfectly. Suddenly, dryer wasn’t drying laundry properly. Problem... no heat. Cheapest price I could find calling for appliance service was about $160 to replace coil set but no one would tell me this would fix the problem. This was after calling a number of repair firms and trying to get a somewhat close estimate of what my problem was and what the repair cost. Not knowing, I might have just paid the $160 but what turned me off was having a service call fee of anywhere from $50-$80 with no one willing to tell me what the problem might most likely be before coming out or give me an estimate over the phone other than a range of $160 - $275. I just did not want to have someone come out for $50 -$80 and tell me that I needed to spend $275 and still owe them the service call even if I did not agree.
Found diagnostic and repair instructions help on line. The diagnostic information indicated a high probability, roughly 50%, that replacing the coil set would solve the problem and found the coil set cost $19.21 plus shipping, so I ordered the coil kit for total of $26.70. Note... I am a 71 year old amateur never having worked as a repairman of any kind except for my own needs.
The repair itself took less than 30 minutes start to finish and was one of the most straight forward, glitch free, easy repairs I have ever done. This is a gas dryer but still uses 110 power so I unplugged the 110 power cord from outlet. Followed suggested guidance on opening the dryer cabinet from the front and presto, the coil set I needed to replace was immediately right in front with easy access. Removed 2 screws for the hold-down bracket, slipped off both coils, one at a time, removing the wiring connection for each coil and then reconnecting to each new coil before slipping each new coil back into place and reattaching the hold down bracket. Reinstalled the dryer door and cabinet front in reverse order from taking off... 4 screws total. Plugged in the 110 power cord and put in a damp load of freshly washed laundry. Presto... 30 minutes later... dry laundry. Note... could do the same repair again in half the time since I took it slow and careful 1st time and also took time to remove dust before completing repair. I like things to look like new inside and out and it did when I was done. $26.70 and good as new. Why I didn't spend $160 - $275 is pretty obvious now.

Remove heater assembly, Modify replacement thermostat mounting including connector, replace burn't wire, reinstall

Checked to see if heating element was warming up by checking through access hole on front of dryer,it was, you know because it glows,so replaced coils and it fixed the problem. Important note, buy the coils as a packet, almost half the price than buying seperately. Thx everybody who sends in info, this is a great site to save people money on fixing appliances

Watched video. Made this a very easy repair.Will use this site for next repair.

It Went well Part was very fragile

I watched the video on the computer and it was very easy to repair I had the dyer apart ,fixed and put together in about half hour

I pulled thee dryer out from the wall, shut off the gas & disconnected the gas line & the air vent, I then removed the fasteners from the upper end of the lint chute assembly (accessible from the top of the machine). I then tipped the machine over on to its front side making the back fully accessible. After removing the back cover, I removed the remaining fasteners holding the lint chute assembly in place & removed the part. I then removed the assembly only to find that the seals were not included in the package even though I had specifically asked about the seal when I called in & place my order. The response to my question was " seals are included that is why it is called an assembly." The end result was that I had to use alternate material & fabricate my own seals in order to complete the installation. As a result a repair which should have taken no more that 30 minutes, took over two hours.

I did a quick research online and found PartSelect to have the best price. I ordered my part on Monday 8/6 and to my tremendous surprise FedEx delivered it Tuesday 8/7!! I did not pay for overnight delivery. My son happened to come by that day and he took a small flathead screwdriver, pried the old one out and inserted the new part. Done in 5 minutes! PartSelect will be my supplier from now on.

We watched the video on the PARTS SELECT site and it was very helpful and I had no problem holding the flashlight for my husband!

Had a hard time at first trying to figure out how to place the pulley wheel that you place the belt around, it holds it in place so to speak, was getting very frustrated came upstairs went on line to your web site and lo & behold there was a video on how to do it, I watched that video (thanks Steve) and went back down cellar and had the belt on in less than 5 mins and everything is working fine. I removed the top of the dryer and removed the faulty switch form it's mating connector. The simply removed two Phillips Head round headed screws with a screw driver and replaced the part all within 15 minutes. However, I also heard that it wasn't drying properly so after making sure my dryer vent was free of any lint build up, I removed the back of the dryer. Once removed, I completely cleand any dust from inside the dryer, then checked all of the visable wire connections and then went to PartSelect's fantastic web-site. Her they catagorize the top 7 reasons that could cause the problem (in my case) not drying and thenproceed to give you an idea of the most likely cause by publishing the failure rat in per centage values in decending order, they also provide schematics and the on top of all of that...they provide mini-videos not only showing you wher the parts are located but the step by step instructions on how to remove them and replace them. After all of this, I took my ohm meter and actually removed all of the 7 parts suggested, cleaned them up, ran a continuity check on each part and found them all in working order. Replaced the parts and checked the heat and it was back to normal!! There must have be a lose connection causing the problem. But, I can guarantee that the next time I have an appliance problem...I'll again be calling on PartSelect.com. They are awesom and they will be highly recommended to anyone I know that is experiencing problems. I have not ever seen a web-site that was so complete in excellent service. And there prices and shipping time speaks for itself. They are great!!

Watched that igniter glowed for usual 15 seconds. Gas did not flow so tested solenoids for ohm resistance across leads. One was bad, less than 1350 oms (as I recall). Ordered the M series coil (solenoid) kit at Part Select, arrived the next day. Replaced them in 5 minutes. Took about 15 minutes to vacuum lint + dust out base of dryer area. 5 more min to put front of dryer 4 screws in and mount dryer door!
