Replacing the Coupling
Watched the video. Did what he said. Done! By the way, the Model Number ended in 3, but all that was available was the schematic for the one ending in 4. No matter, it was the same thing. Blender runs just fine now, and for less than $6, I didn't have to buy another blender. Very clear site to use.

bad drive coupling and leaking seal
Instructions that came with drive coupling are completely wrong. They say too pry the coupling off with a flat tip screwdriver which would ruin the motor shaft and threads. You just insert a small thin tool into the bottom air vents of the base to keep motor from turning and unscrew the coupling clockwise to remove and then screw new coupling counterclockwise hand tight only. Then follow the instructions to change out the pitcher seal by hand only.

The part just crumbled
We were going to throw the blender away but after checking prices on a new kitchen aid brand at $ 150.00. We found this part for $ 5.00. So we decided to give it a shot. Glad we did. Easy to fix! Thank you. Kay

drive teeth on coupling broken
Follow instuctions on the video, except if the blender is as old as mine it would be wise to cover the the old coupling with a towel or rag because it is brittle and pieces will fly off and you will have a mess to clean up or possibly some in your eye.

Relacement of black under-the-pitcher blender/gear blade turner
Watched the video first using screwdriver. Saying to pry upwards...nothing moved because I thought I would strip the screw on top of motor shat. The "part" is mounted on aluminum...which is softer than hard screw metal shaft. You really need to apply a lot of leverage under that existing black part ... prying it ... 1/4" rotating and eventually it will pry off. Simply remove metal filings and screw the new part on counter-clockwise. Started out difficult...but you won't hurt the hard metal screw prying the softer aluminum piece off!

Drive Coupling shattered
Tried prying the old coupling off per instructions included, but there was too much resistance and felt like damage would occur to blender base if more pressure applied. Tried locking the drive as described in the comments by other users using a screwdriver through the bottom vents and that worked fine. New coupling screwed on with no problem. Blender is now working as good as new. Appreciate the service. It's why I buy KitchenAid.

Broken tabs on drive wheel
I read the suggestions at the site, and decided to use a wrench on the shaft rather than a screwdriver in the fan blades as they looked fragile. I had to grind the wrench thinner, and I'm glad I used that approach as the old wheel was very tight and I had to use a channel-lock pliers to get it loose. Definitely the safest way to go. Puting the new part on was a snap. Now I have a wrench for any future repairs to this part. The wrench size is 9/32".
