so easy to remove the switch. I first marked the wires, 1-2-3-4 and then removed them from the old switch. removed the old switch and replaced with the new one and plugged in the wires as per markings. tried it out before replacing the top and it works perfectly. no longer timid about effecting repairs on my own. the diagrams on the website were a great help. this is a great company to do business with. part was here in 3 days.

Took screw off band. This revealed 4 screws to upper housing. Removed 4 screws and lifted upper housing off . To my surprise I found no screws holding gear housing cover in place. You could tell they were there at one time. Should be 4. I removed cover disasembled what was left of gears. Cleaned old grease ordered parts. Thought since there was only 1 screw on diagram it would ship 4. No big deal. After recieving parts further inspection revealed no screws holding motor in place. This blows me away. Anyway off to local hardware store for more screws. Got home slapped it togethere in 10 minutes. Ordered this off TV about 6 years ago. They must have had it in for repair and forgot to put it back together. All that aside it runs better than ever. Thanks much Michael

I ordered the retaining rings from PartSelect and by mistake I did enter the wrong address for the delivery. I got a notification that the parts were delivered. When I called PartsSelect they toll me not to worry, they send me a new shipment to the correct address immediately. I have to add the retaining clips used by PartsSelect or KitchenAid are substandard, they are not hardened enough to hold the load of the motor and bread dough. These clips keep on popping off and losing tension.

First and foremost, I am not mechanical at all. I typically refer to parts as thing-a-ma-jigs, and whatca-ma-call-its. When it froze up and started to make a loud grinding noise, I guessed it was a gear problem. I decided to try to take it apart, What did I have to lose? If I couldn't figure it out, I would be down a mixer. I was already down one as it was. It was very easy to take apart and I could immediately see what gears needed to be replaced. Parts Select made it very easy to see what parts I needed. And delivery was lightning fast; the next day after it shipped! I found a PDF on line on how to dis-assemble and re-assemble the mixer. I got it together and it mixed for a few minutes and froze again. I took it apart and realized that I didn't have the whatcha-ma-call-it (worm gear) seated properly. Fixed it and put it back together and put it to the test. Working just fine now! Thank you Parts Select for making this very easy!
