Door Switch - 3 Wire

A door switch is a simple on/off switch mechanism that prohibits the dryer from operating when the door is open. This part may need to be replaced if you find that the dryer is not starting, will not shut off or the door will not close properly. All you will need is a putty knife and a Phillips screwdriver. Pry open the top of the dryer, remove the two screws underneath the lint collector without removing the entire thing, unplug the switch, remove the screws that hold the switch place, take out the old switch and install the new one by screwing it back into place.

Drum Support Roller

This is a drum support roller for a dryer. The part includes the drum roller only and does not include the tri rings. Although most dryers require two drum support rollers, this part is sold separately. It is recommended to check and replace both drum support rollers at the same time to ensure proper drum rotation and because they often wear at the same rate. The drum support roller holds the drum in the proper position while it spins on the support wheels. If rollers are worn out, they will cause the dryer to be noisy. This is a genuine replacement part.

Tri Ring

If you notice that your dryer is noisy or will not tumble, you may need to replace the tri ring. This part is triangular, and is less than an inch in size. Tri rings can be found both on the idler pulley shaft, or on the rear drum roller shaft. In either case, you will need to remove the front panel of the dryer and the drum to access the part for repair. Once you have accessed the damaged tri ring, you will simply need to slip it off and replace it with the new one. This part is sold individually. Be sure to disconnect the power source from the dryer before you begin this repair.

So then checked the thermal fuse for continuity I removed the two wires from it with a small pair of needle nose pliers, ... read more

Cleaning the lint out of the whole machine took quite a bit of time--it was everywhere. Underneath the lint trap was a collection that ultimately ruined the thermal fuse where it restricted the air flow considerably.

Ascertaining the problem was the most time consuming part.

The actual repair was quite simple and didn't take but 15-20 m... read more
