Replace (broken) door cam.
Fridge side: Remove all door bins. Close the door. Pry off top hinge cap. Using 5/16" nut driver, remove three screws. Remove top hinge by lifting it up. Place pad on floor to prevent marring. Hold door at sides. Open door halfway and lift it up and off the bottom hinge. Do not let door fall! Set door on pad. The lower and upper cams are different; do not mix them up (check the parts list). Remove the old lower cam from the hinge (on fridge) and install new lower cam with new screw. Remove the old upper cam from the bottom of door and install new one with shoulder screw provided. If the old cam does not have the shim, do not use the shim from kit. The kit has extra parts and screws. Lift up the door and set it on the lower hinge pin and close it. Reinstall the upper hinge and shim loosely with the three screws. Adjust the door before tightening the screws. Check that the gasket is compressed evenly all around. Open and close the door. The door should close easily. If the door does not close easily, remove it again and smear some Vaseline on the lower hinge pin and cam. Replace the door and put a little Vaseline on the upper hinge pin before inserting it into the door. Finally, replace the upper hinge cap and replace the door bins. Repeat procedure for freezer side. This fridge does not have water/ice dispenser in the door.

The Ice Bin Auger Drum shatered away from the shaft.
The reason it took me longer than what should have been a 15 minute repair is due to the fact that I could not figure out how the shaft came apart. I found an instructional video on Parts Select website that showed me that the shaft was held together by a reverse treaded, round nylon nut on the very front of the shaft. Just use a pair of pliers to grasp the nut and rotate it clockwise, after that you just need to lay the parts out in order as they come off the shaft so you can put it back together again.

Light in the refrigerator didn't work
I did exactly as the video showed. I popped out the old switch, disconnected the two terminals, connected the new switch and put it back. The light now works! The refrigerator is over 25 years old and the switch works! What a great website this is. Couldn't of done the job without Partselect's help.

Ice Bin Auger Drum was broken
When I ordered the new auger drum from this website, I noticed a video that explained how to install the item. When I received the new drum, I went to the website and found the video. All I did was to watch the video and do what the repairman did. I did get a little confused when I noticed that the auger in the video was metal, and mine was plastic. However, upon removing the pieces as shown in the video, it became clear that the new auger drum would fit the same way the broken one had fit. After that, it was a snap to put the pieces back together.

freezer door cam set and ice dispenser guide both broken
Ice dispenser guide: Required a screwdriver for one screw and was done in minutes. Part fit was perfect. Door cam kit: shut off water to refrigerator. Remove lower vent and disconnect water line, mine had an in line coupler below the door. I raised the door with a simple car jack and removed all bolts to the door hinge and upper cam on under side of the door. Remove the spring over the hose and slide old pieces off of the line. Feed the new cam piece for door and install the one on the door hinge with supplied bolts and screws. Install hinge and spring back over the line and hinge to the refrigerator. Connect the water hose with the coupler and turn water back on. Cam kit makes door work like new. Replacement of all pieces above mentioned took about an half an hour. Well worth the time and cost. I figure would have cost about $100.00 + to have a repairman do this and I did it for $35.00 in parts.

Drum vanes were breaking off.
I took ice bin apart to ensure what part I needed. Got Serial # & Model # from inside fridge. Online search for Whirlpool Parts to check out prices. Settled on PartSelect for best price. Quick service too!!! Before putting it all back together, I reviewed the video. It was pretty good. Just left it up & after each couple of steps, I'd look at what was next. Went together with no problem. There could have been more details given, like ensuring that certain things lined up during reassembly. There was dead time when the narrator could have given pointers.
