My ice maker quit working
I have some electronics background but your listed problems helped me narrow down the problem. I ordered the part, removed old part, installed new part (maybe 15 minutes total) and my icemaker started dumping the ice that was in the tray within 20 minutes and making more. That clunking sound of ice was music to me ears and wallet!! Thanks!!

Ice maker wasn't getting water
I called a repair man out to see what the problem was because my husband just died and I didn't want to pay such high prices for a repair. He told me I needed a new motor for the ice maker and it would be a total of about 305.00. I couldn't believe the price. It cost me 59.99 for his diagnosis. I went to your web site and found the part and watched you installation video. I am 65 years old and I was able to install the new part in less than 15 min. The part was about 95.00. I saved 150.00 by doing it myself. I will always look on line before I have a repair man do a job. I may need them to diagnose the problem, but I will try myself before paying such outrageous fees.

Ice Maker Not Making Ice.
Watched the trouble shooting & installation videos , checked to make sure water was getting to the door. I look'ed closely at the entire unit. Every thing seem'ed to be ok. I made a guess as to which part to order. The control motor or the thermostat. The control motor made more sense to me. I made the right guess. Works like new.

change switch for the water
I followed directions to take off the front of the water and ice maker then I saw the switch but I found out the plastic piece that held it in place was broke. I didn't order a new piece I used my reliable super duper quick glue and put the broken pieces to geter then put switch in place. then volla I had the water running like it did before. Thank you for telling me how to get the front off. That was the life saver.

White plastic chips kept appearing in the ice crusher
I took the ice bin and crusher down to find the problem. I needed a new auger. I did a Google search for the part and found instructions for taking the crusher mechanism apart. This went smoothly until I went to put it back together. I had to follow the instructions in reverse which was really difficult. I advise folks to use their cell phone camera to take close up pictures of the dismantling process . Use these to help you put it back together. All in all, I was very pleased and plan to return when another need arises. John (retired x 2)

Recent move and movers broke the light switch on refrigerator side.
Unplugged the refrigerator then removed two vertical screws on the very back back of the control panel (the ones with the washers). Do not remove the four other vertical screws in the panel. The front plastic plate on control panel snaps off and there are two horizontal screws under the plate. Remove them and the control panel will drop down allowing access to the light switch. Unplug the two wires (one black and one white) from the old switch. Discard the old switch, snap the new one into place and reconnect the two wires. Snap the front plastic plate back into place, plug in the refrigerator and you are done! Problem solved with a new $16.00 switch and saved at least $75.00 or more from an appliance repair call. Thanks Part Select!

Ice maker was not making ice.
Followed the example on the video and everything fit in place without any problems. Only issue is that on a double door fridge the freezer is rather narrow so there isn't much room to work making it was a bit difficult to access the mounting screws.

plastic drum blade broke from shaft
followed video instructions... only thing done differently was to tape crusher blades together before removing from shaft and added a drop of sewing machine oil to all screw sockets before replacing to reduce rusting and create greater ease of removal if further repairs needed

Ice maker was leaking
Really couldn't be easier. Loosen 3 screws that are easy to find. Disconnect the quick connect wiring harness. Now you have the old unit out. Take out the wire that tells if there is too much ice from the old unit and put it on the new one ( this was the hardest part of the project) Hook up the new wiring connector and hook it on the screws and tighten it up. Viola, your done. No messing with the water. Took me 5 minutes and I've never done it before.
