The Ice Bin Auger Drum shatered away from the shaft.
The reason it took me longer than what should have been a 15 minute repair is due to the fact that I could not figure out how the shaft came apart. I found an instructional video on Parts Select website that showed me that the shaft was held together by a reverse treaded, round nylon nut on the very front of the shaft. Just use a pair of pliers to grasp the nut and rotate it clockwise, after that you just need to lay the parts out in order as they come off the shaft so you can put it back together again.

Replacethermostat
Simply follow the video instructions. Involves the removal of nine screws. to remove the old plastic sleeve cut the tube near the old thermostat and it slides of easily. Apply dish or hand washing soup to the new tube when putting the plastic sleeve onto the new probe. The hardest part is getting the end of the probe coiled to the right shape. Hey,` if I can do it with a broken collar bone, anybody should be able to do it.

Ice Bin Auger Drum was broken
When I ordered the new auger drum from this website, I noticed a video that explained how to install the item. When I received the new drum, I went to the website and found the video. All I did was to watch the video and do what the repairman did. I did get a little confused when I noticed that the auger in the video was metal, and mine was plastic. However, upon removing the pieces as shown in the video, it became clear that the new auger drum would fit the same way the broken one had fit. After that, it was a snap to put the pieces back together.

Freezer Ok. Refrigerator Not Cooling.
Followed recommendations from others but went with most likely by percentage = defrost timer kit. Did not solve issue. Then went with bi-metal thermostat and that did not fix the problem. Tested the thermostat as recommended on line and old part was bad, new part ok. Then I saw on line that I should have listened for fan operation. I checked and found the fan motor to be defective. Replaced the motor and refrigerator worked fine. Both the motor and bi-metal thermostat were required. Should have checked fan operation first.

water dispencer not working, ice maker is working
This was not a through the door unit. The water dispenser is located inside the refrigerator. Unplug the refrigerator. Remove the two screws holding the cover over the dispenser parts. Could not remove the cover completely as there is a water supply line attached. Let the front of the cover down as far as you can get it. The micro switch is reachable. Move plastic retaining posts holding the switch in place, to the side to release the switch. This can be done with your fingers. Pop the switch out. Use the blade of the screw driver to gently pry the electrical connection plug away from the switch. Attach the new switch to the plug and put everything back in the reverse order of disassembly. Done, easy, even I could do it.

Ice Bin Auger Drum Broke
very simple ! Just follow the instruction video on parts select . It don't get any more simple than that ! Learned a lot just watching that video . I picked up from that how to install an ice maker also . I cant believe I paid a repairman $100 last year to install an ice maker on my refrigerator either . I could have done it myself for 1/3 the cost and still had a brand new ice maker . I asked him about fixing the ice bin then he said they was no way . Said the best thing for me to do was try to find a used one would probably cost me about $100 . I think the total cost for the parts was about $30 here . And BTW takes about 2 min to change out an ice maker . I will never call another repair man to come into my house again unless they do away with the internet .

In the Past my husband would deal with it but he is no longer alive to do this kind of stuff. Thank goodness you sent the video along with all the instructions as i had my laptop on the table and followed stopped it and followed it again. I actually did this . I am so proud of myself.Thank you for making it so easy.
