First I'll say the instructions and comments from this site were right on, making it easy. I slid the oven out and unplugged the electric. Opened the door, took out the racks, took out the two thumbscrews at the back bottom and lifted the bottom plate up and out, and lifted off the heat guard plate. I could then see and reach the igniter pretty easily (the flashlight helped). The igniter may have been replaced before because there were already wire nuts on the wires. I unscrewed the two screws using the nutdriver and noted which wire (top or bottom) went to which wire inside. Unscrewed the wire nuts and removed the old igniter. Used the old igniter to determine where to cut and strip the new igniter's wires. Connected the wires of the new igniter using the wire nuts and put the two mounting screws in. Then just put all the other stuff back in (heat guard, bottom plate/two thumbscrews, racks). Plugged it in and started the oven. Got a small amount of "crackly" noise initially (maybe because the igniter was new) but that went away and it's been working fine and quiet since. Very easy (well, perhaps other than being on your knees, leaned into the back of an oven for a couple minutes). Well worth the effort.

disconnected the (2) wires of old igniter from (2) wire nuts located under oven in back of bottom drawer, took out (2) mounting screws holding igniter assembly and held it together to new igniter assembly. Stretched out wires together and cut new wires same length as old wires, then mounted new igniter with same (2) screws and connected wires with new included wire nuts and replaced all other oven parts, turned on oven and had a nice TV dinner! :-) Extremely pleased with PartSelect. Ordered part on Tuesday night and had it by Thursday night the week of Christmas no less! Kudos to PartSelect! Great service!

Removed broiling drawer to gain access to the igniter. Remove igniter from mounting bracket, ,cut wires, attach new igniter wiring and reinstall the igniter on the bracket. Reinstall the broiling drawer to complete the job.

The day after Christmas I searched the net reading various reviews, etc. PartSelect seemed to be the easiest site to navigate and offered How To's notes. Wednesday, less than two days later the oven igniter arrived. This was the third igniter in six years. The grandkids watched me intensly as I read the How to's and easily installed the new igniter. Because of the ease with the website and the fast delivery I am keeping PartSelect.com as part of my resources for the home self doer. The cost was competitive saving me over $100.00 doing it myself. Removed racks. removed two screws in back of bottom shelf of oven.Do not know what type of nut or other fastener was on other end of those screws as they would not tighten when I put them back in. However they are in the holes and the shelf isnt going anywhere.The shelf lifted right out lifting the back up first and sliding out from under lip in front. easy access to igniter use a nut driver for this.In the bottom left corner there was a triangle shape cover that needed removed held by one screw. both wires had clip in style connectors that come right out.Cut these off with plenty of wire to attach to new wires with wire nuts provided with new igniter.Put everything back like the old came off. I used a little electrical tape over wire nuts.Closed oven door and tuned on oven and watched my wife begin to smile as the igniter turned red and oven kicked on.

took off door, oven floor and burner cover. cut the wire for the old igniter and used ceramic nuts (provided) to hook up the new one. screwed the new one on with old screws, tested and re-assembled. Saved a hundred bucks easily, but I have some basic electrical back ground.

First, I took out the racks. Then I removed the bottom cover of the stove. (This was in place by two screws that I used my drill & socket set.) Next, remove burner cover by a socket set. Finally, in the corner was a metal cover that covered part of the electrical connections. I then used the screw driver to undo the screws that attached the igniter to the oven. I undid one wire connection, and wired it with the new one on the igniter. (To make sure I wired it correctly.) Then I undid the other wire, and connected it with the new wire (using the new wiring nuts provided.) Done! Now just put all the parts back together.

first I removed the 4 screws holding the cover in place. then I removed the 26" flourescent tube by slowing twisting it free. Then I attemped to buy another one at 6 or 8 stores with no luck. While surfing the web for tappan range replacement bulbs, your web site popped up. Thank god.

After reading the input of others on your site I ordered the igniter. Within a short time it was installed and the oven works fine. Thanks for the help, jc

First i disconected the plug went right where the trouble was.removed the two screws and the safe plate that is protecting the wires.disconeted the two wires and replaced the new ignighter. put everythin back together tried it out ond guess what ??? it works .. Thank you

My mom did the repair for me. We did not have the right tools for the job which made it harder to do. First I flipped the breaker. Then we took out the oven racks. We then took the bottom metal part off the oven. This exposed the shield part and we removed it. Then she cut the wires and connected the new igniter the same way the old one was connected. It took about thirty minutes. We could do it again in about fifteen with the right tools. We went and priced new stoves the cheapest was 350.00. I'm so excited that my stove is working properly again.

Removed interior sheet metal to expose ignitor. Removed two nuts holding ignitor to braket. Cut wires. Attatched new ignitor, replaced sheet metal and baked a pizza.

Took everything apart and replaced

Removed covers, disconnected old igniter, spliced the new and replaced. The oven fired up as hoped!

Cut the wires and replace new ignitor very simple
