thanks to the PartsSelect website, I discovered that the problem was not that I needed an all new cooktop (none of which I like - either the looks or the price) BUT that perhaps the elements needed replacing .... so now I am back in business ... actually ordered both 6" and 8" but only needed the 8" ... returned the 6". Thoroughly happy w/Parts Select ...

We were unable to use the part because it doesn't have the same configuration for a ground wire and the eyelets at the tips are turned the wrong way. There were no instructions to indicate whether the ground is internal in the replacement part or if the "eyelets" can be turned without breaking them. We attempted the repair today, which is almost 30 days since we received it December 10th. We were delayed because of the holidays, plus my husband had back surgery on the 18th of December and has been recovering. We are not even sure if this is the right part for our model. Note: I took the model number from the metal plate under the cooktop and it is 2380EGS. Yet on our Use and Care Manual there is a 2380ERS and a 2360EGS listed, but not our actual model number.
