11071802001 Kenmore Dryer - Instructions

My dryer would not get hot. Followed all the troubleshooting steps, clean vents, etc. While that cleaning was needed, it was not the issue. Checked parts select. Saw a review where the person bought all 5 high percentage items for $137.00 plus tax. Thought it was a good idea since I was pulling out the dryer and doing this anyway. In hindsight, I would have also purchased a new belt, tension arm and rollers. Hey, you have the back and front off, you have cleaned the entire unit. You're there. Rehab your dryer so you don't have to replace things one at a time. You will thank me. The culprit to my issue was a cracked ignitor element. The videos were great. I am not a handy person. If I can do this, anyone can do this. By coincidence, my niece had the same issue and paid $120 parts and labor to replace her ignitor only. For 30 dollars more, I replaced 5 parts. The intermittent drying of my gas dryer was the tricky issue for me to pin point. Your web site said 53% chance thermal fuse and 21% "M" series new style coil kit. Ordered both and delivered in less then 18 hrs, impressive! The old fuse tested out OK but I replaced it anyway. Replaced the coil kit (using a step by step video on another web site) in about 15-20 min. Working great now and fixed for under $49. Happy in Milwaukee.

I watched your video and did the job,really no problem. I also cleaned out all the lint and dust will the drum and front were out.

Watched video on the website and saw how easy it was so ordered the part. Part arrived quickly and had dryer up and running within 15 minutes. Good part good price and good intructional video

Fortunately this is an easy diagnosis and easy repair. The great PartSelect instructional videos are a HUGE HELP!!

Goggle the make and model and videos were available on how to remove the lid. I would not have know how to otherwise.

First unplug the unit and move to an area where you will have enough room to pull the drum out. I opened the top by sliding a screwdriver in the top left and right edge and popping the clips to allow the top to lean up and back against the wall. I tried to unclip the harness for the door switch but couldn't get the harness to release and instead took out the two screws holding the door switch in place. This is located on the top right inside the dryer door. Once the switch was off I was able to use the socketdriver to undo the two screws on the inside top left and right to release the front of the dryer by pulling up easily and unhooking the bottom front. I was then able to set the front of the dryer aside and begin removing the belt from the tension wheel and motor. Pay close attention to how the two are connected because it will confuse you putting it back together.The belt feeds through the tension wheel and when you release it the tension wheel is just sitting in place and may pop out of place. Remember which slots it sets back into for when you put the dryer back together. We removed the drum, checked the two rollers to make sure they were in good working order. I removed quite a bit of debris from them. Once the drum was out I pulled off the old seal. Took a piece of sandpaper to rub away any excess old adhesive and began installing the new felt seal. Follow the directions carefully to ensure that the seal is sitting on the edge properly before you begin applying adhesive under the edge. I had someone helping me to install the seal but probably would have needed clamps to hold the seal while working it on. It's not a super tight fit but is fitted and once you start putting it on it easily slips off the other side. A couple clamps would hold it in place if you don't have someone to help. Once the seal is on and you apply the adhesive you begin putting the drum back into place first by slipping the belt back over the drum where it can hang until you are ready to put it back on the motor. You have to make sure the seal isn't folded under the back of the dryer. Again a little tricky but if you gently spin the drum slowly counter clockwise a few times you can work it so it's not folded under. Once you see everything is in place you can reconnect the belt through the tension wheel onto the motor. Check drum again by spinning counter clockwise. Install the front of the dryer back on by setting it into the bottom clips. Put the top screws back in. Re-install the door switch making sure it's back in place with the tab sticking through the hole at the top of the dryer door. Bring the top back down. Close the dryer door and plug it back in and everything should be good to go. It wasn't a difficult job at all and I would probably attempt other repairs now that I've done this one. Beware the adhesive is kind of watery when it comes out but you don't need to use a lot under the edge of the seal. Good luck with your repair. remove back of dryer and install new part

Took 12 screws off the back. One screw for the fuse. $9.32 and 30 minutes and we're back in business!

Followed the instructions that came with belt everthing went just fine.

removed old screen and replaced with new one.I would like to add that PartSelect was the only place i could find the part at a reasonable price, and that it was delivered in record time.

I replaced the entire motor in the dryer and the belt while I had it open and it is working great! I just watched the short video on the site to learn the tricks and did it myself.

First removed and checked the ignighter. It was fine. Next I located the schematic drawing and discovered that the burner, ignighter, and flame detector were all operated by one simple 110 volt circuit. This circuit did not power up when the dryer was cycled on. I pulled the dryer from the wall, removed the back panel, the vent etc. I then located the operating thermostat and the thermal fuze. The thermal fuze was open. (GOOD NEWS AN EASY FIX!!!) Thanks Guys

Well the video showed us taking off the back. Which wouldn't come off. Welded. Then we could not find the fuse in back of the unit or bottom. The second time we tried we found it in the front. We had to take off the front, bottom cover then we found the fuse. But, it didn't fix the problem. The unit is still on Casual load only. When we push the buttons the other lights light up but goes back to Casual. The unit is clear of lint and still drys but only at the Casual setting.
