11064622300 Kenmore Dryer - Instructions

Disassembled front & top of dryer, removed drum & replaced belt, idler pulley & one support wheel (which was the problem). Reassembled drum, top, & front of dryer. Tested good, much quieter.

Pulled drier away from wall six inches. Pulled the plug for the drier power cord out of the wall socket and hooked it up so it would not fall down behind the drier, thereby knocking loose the vent hose. Removed two screws from front of filter housing opening (right of drier top). Lifted up drier top (lid) from the front and secured it in the up position using a stout strap with hooks on both ends. A prop is not a safe way to hold up the lid. Lid is held down only with mildly stubborn friction catches. Door switch was seen looking down along the inside of the drier front on the right side. There was nothing else in that area to cause confusion. Opened drier door and removed two vertical screws that secure the door switch to the front panel of the drier. Lifted the now-free switch and unplugged it from the wire socket. Plugged in replacement switch securely. Replaced the screws securing the new switch to the front panel. Checked that all wiring was back in place and clear of the drier drum. Lowered the drier top. Replaced the screws into the filter housing. Plugged the drier in. Tested the operation of the drier. Checked out spouse's smile. IMPORTANT - Checked that drier vent hose was still firmly in place. Pushed it back in place.

I followed instructions from video -- although the model used in the video was different, the approach was similar. Really the only difficulty was laying on my back (72 years old) and, with one hand and through feel alone (work area was not visible), getting the belt on the drive sprocket and the spring loaded wheel.

Unfortunately, mine was a bad thermostat/fuse that can only be purchased with the High Limit Thermostat which I had already purchased. What you might find helpful is that all thermostats and fuses should show continuity at room temperature when using an Ohm meter. Both purchases arrived within 30 hrs. of shipping. I was impressed. I ended up changing all three thermostats but was still way ahead considering a service call is $140 plus parts. I almost scheduled this service until stumbling onto this site thinking the heater was bad but was much cheaper than the local appliance/repair store. Again, the continuity test showed that the heater was fine and everything already mentioned above could be inspected and changed in less than 10 minutes.

Must remove 2 screws in the lint screen port anchoring the top of the dryer. Next the front panel of the dryer is removed from the machine by pulling up with a putty knife disassembling the clip holding the front in place. 2 more screws are then removed holding front panel of the dryer. The doors sensor switch is then removed freeing the front panel to be removed. At this point after the front panel is off and the top of the dryer lifts in an upwards position and you can now see the tub and the broken belt. The belt has to be reinserted around the tub into the pulley assembly before being pulled onto the motor. The pulley lifts upward towards the tub if it was put on correctly. It has to be placed underneath the pulley in order to have tension put on the belt firming the connection between the tub and motor. To reassemble just reverse what you have taken off in that order. Their is a DYI video which shows the process perfectly. Have a good one !

Went thru all the electrical connections, finally checked the thermal fuse. . It was the culprit. Next time I start there. Unlike older dryers, where one component gos such as the drum belt or the heating element and its only 2 years old. This thermal fuse shuts down the entire unit when it malfunctions

Ordered 8am Monday, Part arrived Fed-Ex on Tuesday. Got home from work, opened the box. Remembered from the site helpful tips, saved screws (10) in a dish, marked electrical wires (L) (R) (B) pried the connection off old part, reinstalled and replaced the back cover. Hardest part was getting out from behind the dryer. Tight space. Amazingly easy I saved $200.00. I'll use this site & service again.

I took rear panel off with a nutdriver 8 screws.disconnected the 2 wires that went to thermal fuse and removed 1 screw holding it in place.replaced thermal fuse and reconnected wires and rear panel.turned dryer on. had heat. walk in the park!

Diagnosed the problem and potential solutions. Watched the handy video, ordered the part and installed as shown. Quick and easy, works fine.

First, I would like to say how pleased I am with how quickly the part arrived. The repair was very straightforward. I used the video on the PartSelect site to guide me. Removed wires one at a time so that I could immediately put them on the corresponding place on the new part. Took less than 10 minutes.

Follow the instructions contained in the kit along with the excellent referenced how to video on YouTube. Will certainly go to PartSelect for all my future appliance repairs.

It was a shot in the dark given I've never performed any trouble-shooting on a dryer before but it was either I try or spend $900 - that I don't have - for a new dryer. I'm female, very mechanically inclined, and will try anything once. My previous recent parts order from PartSelect.com proved successful (in-wall oven door hinges and gasket) so I decided to at least try. To have a repair person come in the house would be at least $100 and that wouldn't cover parts; I don't know anyone to call so that made it worse. And again, buying a new dryer was even worse. I did an Internet Search on my dryer model and also put in "gets hot but won't dry". I received answers that it most likely was a belt. Logic told me - before the search - that a dryer must have either a pulley or a belt to operate so I thought I was on the right track! Lo and behold up pops up Partselect.com as having a belt which the website stated was about 85% the cause of my problem. The belt was $11.49 - how could I go wrong to just try it!??? I then found positively OUTSTANDING VIDEOS on how to change the belt and one thing led to another and I decided to purchase the entire repair kit (wheels, belt, etc.). I also decided to change the thermal fuse given the age of the dryer and while it did get hot it seemed to take a long time for a small amount of clothes. Purchased the kit and fuse, had them shipped 2-day priority (total cost $60) and downloaded the videos to change the entire kit and the fuse after having watched them on the website. I brought my laptop down to the washer/dryer area and place it on the washer. Turned on the video and followed it - stopping the video to perform my part of the repairs. It worked FANTASTIC!! One thing I did find was the dryer had never been serviced and was positively loaded with dust, dirt, "kitties", the lint chute had never been cleaned out and it had toothpicks, nails and screws in it. The entire project took me over 4 hours but that was only because the inside of the dryer was sooooooooo disgustingly dirty. I vacuumed everything - even the motor was covered with caked on dust - and when it came time to install the new parts I breezed right through their installation. There were even written instructions with the parts along with written instructions on the Partselect.com website but the videos are AMAZING! They made this repair so easy to perform, everything was laid out on the video and once I had the "squeaky clean" dryer all put back together I flipped the switch to find it worked like a brand new dryer! I have saved $840 (not counting taxes and delivery fees for a new dryer) and I have now completed TWO major appliance repairs myself........no outside or professional help ..........and I owe it all to Partselect.com and the super videos and parts that FIT! First I watched the videos to be sure these parts were easily accessible. After determining the heating element was the problem, I decided to change the other parts only because they were so simple to change. I paid just shy of $100 for parts and fixed the dryer myself, saving who knows how much from a service call. This was by far the easiest appliance repair I've ever done. Thank you PartSelect.
