Ordered the parts, figuring it was either the heating element or fuse. Removed back of dryer, replace both parts, and now working great! Thank goodness I didn't have to purchase a brand new dryer! We almost did!!! We spent less than $90.00 and our dryer works like new! Thanks Parts Select!!

After watching your video, and reviewing the directions, I was able to change the rollers, the belt and tension bar with ease. The parts cost me slightly under 50.00 and now the noise is gone and my dryer works great. I am very pleased with PARTSELECT and would use them again. The parts were at my house within three days of placing the order !!!

Removed two small screws on door edge, pop out broken part, insert new part, replace screws. Took 2 minutes 18 seconds. Nice to have various door catches in the Kit. This was a repair on a 1979 Whirlpool Dryer. Great price & service!!

Found the perfect maintenance kit and helpful repair video on PartSelect.com. Factory replacement parts were delivered quickly along with written installation instructions.Never needed them. Just performed the repair while watching the step by step video. Dryer works great, no noise. A very happy customer.

I followed the video on the partselect web page. everything was so easy with the help of partselect.

Removed plug. Removed lint pipe. Unscrewed lint trap under top opening. Popped the top up. Used nutdriver to remove top 2 screws of front panel. Lifted front panel and set aside. Lifted drum out. Replaced wheels and idler assembly. Parts were well engineered and fit perfectly. Vacuumed entire interior. Placed belt around basket. Replaced basket. Slipped belt thru idler pully and onto motor pulley. Tested basket one full turn to make sure the seal was in place all the way around the back. Slipped front onto two bottom brackets. Replaced screws in front with nutdriver. Dropped top back in place. Pushed down into holders. Screwed lint trap back in place. Replaced plug and tested. Replaced lint pipe. Done!

My husband and I followed the video step by step and it worked like a charm.

My Whirlpool washer/dryer combo is 15 years old and has given trouble-free service until this belt snapped. I went to the PartSelect website for the replacement part and found the instructional video. As a DIY neophyte I know my limits but this looked like something I could tackle and save a few bucks on. The part arrived pronto and installation went smooth as butta! I couldn't be happier and even the wife is impressed. Knowing what a service call would have cost makes the whole shebang even sweeter. Ordered correct element for my dryer from part select and received it within 2 days. Removed outer cover on back of dryer and switched out old element with new one. Total of about 20 minutes. Wish all repair jobs were this easy. Good hot heat to dry clothes now! Works perfect!

after the removal of the front i removed the drum and inspect all idler wheels for ware replace if needed. if not clean and lube. idlers must be in good condition...bad idler wheels can cause the belt to brake

Pulled the front of the dryer off. Removed the old belt. Replaced the new one by threading it flat side down, except for the drive motor which was ribbed, so the belt had to be installed sort of serpentine like. Replaced front of dryer and it's like new.

The very first thing you want to do is Unplug the Dryer. I then took the two screws out that hold the lint screen to the top of the dryer. Then I used and old butter knife to pry the front top of the machine open. The top is held in place by two plastic clamps. Once I got the top loose I raise it up. Once I had it raised, I pulled up and out on the front panel where the dryer door is. I left the door switch connected and just put the panel off to the right. I then removed the old belt which was lying under the drum. The drum does drop slightly once you take the door off. This was one of the hardest part of the project for me as I did not have any help. This would be much easier if you just have one other person to hold the drum. Anyway, I then placed the new belt around the drum and used my left shoulder / arm to hold up the drum while feeding the belt in the slot on the tensioner and then over the dryer motor pulley. Make sure you don't twist the belt. I originally had a twist and when I hand turned the drum the belt came off the pulley and the tensioner. I had to rethread the belt through the slot on the pulley and then put the belt back on the dryer motor pulley. I then gave the drum a couple complete turns to make sure everything was staying in place. The tensioner on my dryer did not look like the instructions that came with the new belt. My belt tensioner is like a half circle and the belt just rides on it. I think if I had it to do over I would have purchased a new tensioner also. I feel that the belts constant motion against the tensioner probably causes it to wear out faster. Once I made sure evrything was staying on I replaced the front panel that has the door. You just slide the bottom into the slots while holding up on the drum so it lies on the felt padding around the door. Replace all screws and presto. Works like a new Dryer. Make sure you don't forget to plug it back in... Overall it's a pretty easy fix and much less expensive then a service call or purchasing a new Dryer.

Watched the video and did the same! No muss, no fuss, no bother!

First I unplugged the dryer. Took back off of dryer using nutdriver.Locating the thermal fuse, I replaced with the new one, then took cover off the heating element area and replaced it. This sounds like a pretty simple procedure to replace these parts, and with the help of the PartSelect diagrams, it became a simple task. I am not at all mechanically inclined, but I always look at instructions when assembling anything and this was easy!!

Watched Video a couple of times,,, then took off the back Panel, located the sensors, removed the Heater Coil to examine, for any breaks, looked OK, then replaces the 2 Sensors in the Thermal Cut-Off Kit, Finally Cut off and replace 2 Terminals needed to adapt wiring. Re-installed back Panel. Overall, took about an Hour Oh, it "worked" Dryer repair was successful
