We bought a slightly used dryer, which kept running when the door was open. Trying to get the lid off, I broke one of the clips that held the top on. I gave up, and went to the internet. PartSelect made it easy to find my model and a list of all of the parts. They also had an on-line video that showed me the location of the secret screws that I couldn't find that led me to breaking the clip. After watching the video, the job was insanely easy! I was also surprised that their web site estimated the delivery of the parts at 1.8 days. I figured that this was an average, but the parts actually showed up at my door 1.8 days after I ordered them!

According to your site, we purchased the Door Switch and the Thermal Fuse as these two parts had the highest percent of "what could be wrong". Figured we would send one back if we didn't use it. The Door Switch was replaced first and the dryer worked! Two days later, the dryer stopped working again. Still had the Thermal Fuse so we changed that out. The dryer worked again! Both parts arrived sooner than excepted! Both parts were simple to replace! The diagrams were very handy. The picture of the parts assisted greatly and the video's were the icing on the cake! VERY glad that we ordered both! Will recommend to everyone! PartSelect is bookmarked should we ever need your assistance in the future!

Easy, screw driver (flathead) popped up two clamps on each side of top. maybe 3" from each side. Propped lid up with I think I used a full roll of paper towels, part was inside top left, unscrewed old, used small hook tool to unplug old, put new checked to see if it worked and bang lower top pop in place.NOTE : I am pretty good with fixing little things like this.. PLease UNPLUG for safety first then take time and be happy when you save $ on doing it yourself.

Remove the Lint filter screen from the dryer Remove 2 screws from lint filter housing, and top of dryer. Lift the entire top.(clips hold dryer top in place-dyou may have to carefully pry the top loose from the clips) Open dryer door and remove 2 screws from switch assembly on right side top of door opening. Remove switch by disassembling the wire connector. (pull apart) Then, connect the new switch assembly and align over the two screw holes on the dryer door frame with the switch trip arm in proper position. Insert the screws and tighten carefully. Be sure the the switch is securely tightened so it will not loosen during normal use of the dryer door. Lower the dryer top and press down to secure top on place with the clips. Re align the lint filter housing to insert the screws previously removed. Carefully tighten the screws securely, then re-insert the lint filter.

Gas dryer kept running even when the door was opened.

Disconnected power to the dryer, opened the top of the dryer by sliding a thin scraper underneath the top on the front of the dryer and the pushed the top of the dryer up. I then disconnected the wire on the switch to isolate the switch from the wire in the dryer. I then removed the switch by unscrewing the two screws on the switch and then replaced it with the new switch. I then reconnected the wire to the wire in the dryer.

missing male door catch

After installing the new door catch, the door still wouldn't stay closed; the children had been using the door in the horizontal position as a stepladder, and consequently warped the door. I bent the door back to its original shape more or less and now it stays shut.
