11061252011 Kenmore Dryer - Instructions

After looking at your video, my brother and I put the belt back on, placed the front and back on and that was it. It required two of us but it went well and the machine is working fine. Thank you.

took top off,took back off,took lower panel off,removed old motor without taking drum out,got the part # off old motor,looked it up on line then i found the video on how to do the repair...lol. The repair went well and the instructions that came with the new motor were very good as my motor had the old style switch and needed to be rewired. I did go one step further as long as i had it that far apart,I took the duct work apart on the back of the dryer for the vent and I was very glad I did,it had 25 years of lint and all sorts of other thing in it.I cleaned and lubed all other moving parts and reassembled,works and sounds like new !

1) Watched the repair video to get familiar with the repair.
2) Disconnected the power.
3) Removed the bottom front panel and loosened the two bolts holding the top front panel/door
4) Removed the dryer belt from the tension pulley and motor
5) Removed the lint filter and two screws
6) Popped open the top of the dryer and rested it against the wall
7) Unhooked the two wires to the door switch and unclipped them from the front panel/door
8) Removed the two screws on the inside of the top front panel/door
9) Removed the top front panel/door while holding the drum
10) While holding the dryer belt, removed the drum
11) Loosened the bolt on the bottom of the left roller support
12) Removed the old metal retainer, plastic clips (both sides of the roller) and the roller on the left side
13) Removed the plastic clips and roller on the right side
14) On the right side, installed the new rear plastic clip, roller and front plastic clip
15) On the left side installed the new rear plastic clip, roller and front plastic clip. Then attached the roller support and new metal retainer. Then tightened bolt on the bottom of the support
16) Then put the new dryer belt on the drum, v-grooves facing the drum
17) Installed drum on new rollers and ensures rear felt strip was not kinked as I rolled the drum
18) Reinstalled front panel/door, installed inside screws, tightened bottom bolts and attached door switch wires
19) Followed directions to install new belt on tension pulley and motor
20) Rotated drum to ensure proper fit
21) Closed top cover and installed lint filter screws.
22) Re-installed bottom front panel
23) Connected power and ran dryer
24) VERY EASY!

Slipped screwdriver on top and bottom of catch and pullef out. Pressed new catch in plact. Job finished.

Changing the parts was very easy and took little time to replace all of the parts. I did watch the vidoes that where helpful. Troubleshooting the problem took more time than the repairs

The belt broke at the worse possible time, with a washer full of wet clothing. Watched one of your fine repair videos, did exactly as it said and in less than 15 minutes I had the new belt on and the laundry continued as if nothing ever happened. Thank you for your help and instruction. I will continue to shop your site for all me maintenance and parts needs. Thanks again!

This was the first time that I'd had a dryer apart, so naturally I wound up taking many more things apart than I needed. After finally removing the front panel, I could see that the old belt had broken and was wrapped around the motor shaft, and that the tensioner was lying loose. Installing the new belt was a snap. Simply put it on the lines on the drum and insert into the pulley. The only challenge was figuring out exactly how the tensioner fit. The only way that it could go, and do its job, meant putting a lot of pressure on the spring. Once I got past that hesitation, it was a breeze.

Watch the video on your site and it is very helpful and that is only I needed.

After watching the repair video that was linked in the part delivery confirmation email, the repair went really easy. I just used the putty knife to pop the lid, then removed two sheet metal screws holding the front panel with the nut driver. I disconnected the two wires from the door switch. The front panel slid right up and out. The old belt was broken and lying at the bottom of the dryer. I ran the new belt around the drum, and around the tensioner and drive pulley. This was not as difficult as I imagined it would be. I spun the drum one revolution to make sure the belt was riding right. Before I put the front panel back on I took the opportunity to clean the lint out of the blower. I then just reversed the front panel removal process and snapped the lid back down. This repair took maybe 10 minutes. If I had to do it again I could probably do it in 5. It's just that easy. The dryer works perfectly now.

Found Partselect, went to instant repairman read other peoples comments. I determined that I needed thermal fuse and thermal cut off kit. Ordered the parts early one morning, the parts came the next day. [Thank God!] I was expecting a long 3 to 5 business day wait. I watched the video to install. Took a few minutes to figure out about the jumper wire,[my dryer did not have the small wire] and low and behold, Grandma fixed the dryer saving herself a lot of money she needed to raise grandkids. Thank you so much!

Looked up on-line for tips, found computer animated video. It was easy as it looked, took longer to take dryer apart (not long). Other note on problem; neighbor who works on washer/dryers said that the motor was probably going. replaced belt anyway because I already purchased it before we spoken. Throwing caution to the wind!!

I watched the informative video you sent via e-mail with order conformation. Installation was flawless. Thanks and will be using your site again for any other small appliance repairs that may need my attention.

I watched the online video three times. This was extremely useful. I just did what it showed. I doubt I could have fixed it without the video. This has got to be the best feature of the internet. I didn't have the exact model number, but the belt fit. I was surprised at how close the tensioning wheel was to the motor. Perhaps the belt will stretch with age and use.

We noticed the drum wasn't spinning, but the heat was turning on. About 3 years ago the heat was broken and it turned out that there was a little thermal fuse in there that needed swapped out, that was easy too fix too. Anyway, I looked up on youtube how to change out dryer belts on maytag units and it looked pretty straight forward. The model they showed was easier to access than my model, but I was able to still figure it out. Just pop off the top panel (they used a putty knife at the two clip points on the front, but I just yanked it up with a little force and it popped right up). Then unscrew the two little screws holding the front panel on, then pull off the front panel completely. This exposes the drum. The example on youtube showed easy front access to the belt assembly, but in my model, there was a stand for the drum as well as the drum motor in the way. So I just pulled the whole drum out the front most of the way, then I went behind the drum where I had exposed the pully/motor shaft assembly and then fed in the new belt into belt tension assembly that connects to the motor. While keeping it taught so the ribs of the belt would stay on the motor head (I had my wife hold it taught) I pushed the drum back toward the hanging belt and then worked the edges of the belt around the drum until it once again was completely around the drum. Then I slowly pushed the drum all the way back into place while continually working the belt back into place as I went. I then manually rolled the drum around a few times to ensure it was rolling correctly and that the belt was indeed in the right place. After a few good spins without it changing position, I reassembled the unit. It was very painless and took about 15-20 minutes in all. Works just fine again.

I reviewed the instruction video. Excellant video. exactly like my dryer. Just followed the instructions. I did put a shoe under the drum for easier installation of belt onto idler pulley. I vacuumed and cleaned inside. Really not that dirty.Excellant web site and video instructions. Wish I had done the repair sooner. Also God Bless the residents of OK city, Moore, and ElReno.
