Machine wasn't agitating. I replaced the cogs, and now its fine. Thanks for the quick shipment, the laundry was piling up!
Removed fabric softener dispenser, plastic cap under it. Removed the nut holding the agitator in and removed the agitator. Popped out the agitator assembly, removed the old dogs and put in the new ones, Re-assembled in reverse and it works fine now.

Top half of agitator would not turn
Popped off top cap, then pulled out another cap that covered the bolt that held agitator to the drive post. Removed bolt, pulled out agitator, placed it on the floor and held it down with my feet while I pulled it apart exposing area where cogs went. it was tricky holding agitator upside down, while i put the assembly back together, but all went well and it is as good as new, really a piece of cake.

upper section of agitator not turning
I "googled" "Washing machine agitator not working". It guided me to a site with a "you Tube" video of a appliance repair man fixing the problem on similar machine showing the worn dogs etc and how to replace them correctly. The site also provided a link to PART SELECT web site with all the info needed to order the correct part for my washer. Very simple!
I would like to add the service/delivery from Part Select was excellent!! I ordered the part online Saturday eve it arrived the following Tuesday.

Top part of agitator wouldn't move
It was a very simple repair. I removed the fabric softener dispenser by pulling on it. Then I took out the plastic cover. Next, I used a socket set to remove the nut holding the agitator to the base of the washing machine. Take off the top part of the agitator (if the bottom part comes off with the top just hold down the bottom and pull until the top comes off). Remove the old cogs and replace with the new ones. Reassemble everything back in reverse order.

agitator wouldnt rotate
first i used a screwdriver to remove the cap on top of the agitator then used a 7/16 socket to loosen and remove the old bushing with the dog ears in it. (must hold bottom of agitator or it will try to turn during removal of bolt that holds bushing down) Then to put new part in its just a matter of reverse order (totally easy)

Top part of agitator not working
I first removed the fabric softener dispenser by pulling up on the blue lock ring. Then I removed the agitator cap by pulling up on the top of it. Next I took a 7/16 socket and removed the bolt holding the agitator. At this time I removed the whole agitator by pulling straight up from the bottom of the agitator. I then took the old agitator kit out & replaced it with a new one. I put the agitator back together & placed it back over the shaft. Installed the 7/16 bolt, agitator cap & the dispenser, job done. The agitator is working great. This is a real easy job to do & only takes about 15 min's. The part comes with good instructions, all you need to do is follow them. PartSelect is a great place to get parts. This is the second time I have ordered parts from them on-line. Always had my parts in a couple of days.

agitator wasn't working right. Was not catching like it should.
Remove cap on top of agitator with screw driver or other thin edged tool. It pries off. You will see a cap down inside the agitator tube. Pull out that cap with fingers or pliers. You will see a nut under it. Use ratchet with extender to reach it and unscrew turning counter clock wise. after it is unscrewed, pull the agitator straight up and out of machine. Then you will have to pull the top part of agitator from the bottom part to separate the two pieces of the aitator. Then remove the dogs ( little catches in the one piece) . Replace them into the slots with the new ones and carefully put the two pieces of the agitator back together. Put agitator back into machine and tighten the bolt, snap the cap back on and you are back in business.
