watched the repair video on u-tube and followed it. Had trouble separating the top agitator from the bottom agitator after removing it from the washer. I tapped the 4 white tabs on the top with a hammer and screwdriver. Top and bottom separated after that.

Top of Agitator Wouldn't Turn
I noticed the top wasn't spinning. I took the cap off the agitator and looked inside it. Sure enough the directional clogs were broken. I had no idea what to do. I went online using my phone and discovered partselect.com With their wonderful help I was able to find out what part I needed and order it right from my phone. It only cost me $10 bucks to get it delivered to my house and it shipped in 3 days. I am 21 years old and this was my first washer. Thanks to part select I can keep my washer. Partselect saved me well over $150 dollars plus labor. I will definitely use partselect again!!!

Washer wouldn't agitate
After 10 years, our washer stopped agitating. While I started looking at new washers on-line, my husband looked at our washer and found that the agitator was slipping because the plastic "teeth" that grab the gear were worn down. I Googled Kenmore washer parts and quickly found Parts Select. We ordered the Agitator Cam Repair kit and were EXTREMELY pleased to see it appear at our door within two days!! In less than 15 minutes, after spending only $32, my husband installed the new parts and, with all honesty, we feel like we have a brand new washer! It hasn't agitated this well in a very long time. Because of this, we saved at least $500 because we didn't need to buy a new washer (which probably wouldn't have been as good as our current one!). Awesome experience--wish everything in life were this easy!!

Would not spin
Video's on parts select are a big help. Just followed the instructions. Only slight problem was the coupling's do not slide easily onto the shafts. I had to use a little lubricant and put a wood block across the opening and tap with a hammer. Maybe a little more than a tap. Also when I was ready to test the repair I found the washer would not stop filling. After much checking I found out on another repair site that the shutoff requires a certain water pressure to work properly. I hadn't opened the faucet fully. Once I did everything worked properly.

Clutch dog teeth were warn causing the actuator to slip and not produce the required agitation.
Removed the actuator cap which gives you access to the screw that holds the clutch dog assembly in place. Once the screw is removed the assembly lifts right out. The clutch dogs have a small retaining band that holde them in place. Once removed the dogs slip right out. Replace the old dogs and reverse the order of the removal process. Very easy.
