These agitator directional cogs are commonly referred to as dog ears. They come four to a package and are usually used with direct drive washing machines.

Thrust Spacer

This white thrust spacer is made of plastic and is also commonly referred to as a retainer ring. It is used in the agitator assembly of many direct drive washing machine models. This is the retaining ring for inside of agitator. May need agitator grease for repair.

This six piece agitator repair kit comes with a four inch cam, a thrust spacer, and four dogs ears (agitator cogs). This kit is used to move the upper agitator and it connects the base of the agitator with the agitator top (mover).

pull off softner dispenser, pop off agitator cap by inserting straight screw driver into small slot, remove bolt inside agitator with socket wrench and long extension, pull agitator straight up off shaft, place agitator on floor, with feet holding bottom half pull top half apart from bottom half by pulling straight up, note direction of old cogs remove and r... read more

Pried off the agitator cap. Removed the bolt. Removed the agitator. In the process of separating the agitator from the base, a plastic tab broke off which concerned me. BUT, in the directions with the part it explains that the 2 tabs are for factory assembly and to break both of them off. Broke off the second tab and reassembled. Step 1) Take off top cap with a flat head screw driver.

2) unscrew bolt (may need extension as it may be deep in the agitator.)

3) Take upper agitator off.

4) remove clog retainer and clogs.

5) insert new clogs and re-assemble.
