very simple. actually did a little more then was necessary. once we removed the back of the dryer, used our vacuum to vacuum up all the lint that was back there. Watched the video on how to repair the part when we ordered it and it was easy as can be.. we have used this web site to repair our oven, fridge and now the dryer. Everything went according to plan. I reccomend this site as much as i can and it has saved us a lot of money. Thank you!

Dryer wouldn't turn on

  • Customer: Scott from Cypress, TX
  • Difficulty: Really Easy
  • Time to Complete: Less than 15 mins
  • Tools Required: Screw drivers

When I initially inspected the dryer when it stopped working, I noticed a ball of lint had collected on the backside of the thermal fuse. I figured that had allowed the temperature to exceed the fuse's max temp. To relace, I simply removed the dryer's rear panel, disconnected the thermal fuse and replaced it. Once all back together, the dryer powered on with no problem.

Dryer buzzed when trying to start

First off, I ordered the part around 1 pm, paid regular shipping, and it was here the very next day! As for the repair, maybe the easiest fix I have done. Make sure the dryer is unplugged, pop the top up and remove the front of the dryer. Take out the pulley (careful it can snap ya) then remove the drum. The snap rings around the motor can be tricky, so be sure to watch the video sent to you from PartSelect. With a couple of wrenches, loosen the motor from the blower and remove. Put new one in and put back together. Piece of cake. Took me about 20-25 mins. This is the best place I've ordered from and will continue to get my supplies here. Good Luck!

  • Customer: robert from lancaster, NY
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Time to Complete: 1- 2 hours
  • Tools Required: Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set

took top off, took back off, took lower panel off, removed old motor without taking drum out,got the part # off old motor, looked it up on line then i found the video on how to do the repair...lol. The repair went well and the instructions that came with the new motor were very good as my motor had the old style switch and needed to be rewired. I did go one step further as long as i had it that far apart,I took the duct work apart on the back of the dryer for the vent and I was very glad I did,it had 25 years of lint and all sorts of other thing in it.I cleaned and lubed all other moving parts and reassembled, works and sounds like new !

Washer quit running when lid was closed

  • Customer: Colleen from Indianapolis, IN
  • Difficulty: A Bit Difficult
  • Time to Complete: 1- 2 hours
  • Tools Required: Screw drivers, Socket set
  • 0 of 0 people found this instruction helpful
This repair took me longer because I was just giving it a try - I have no experience, although I tend to be "handy." I'm sure anyone with experience would rate this as "easy" and have taken only a short time. I had to watch the video several times to understand what to do - and the comments were helpful too. My washer is an OLD maytag, so I removed the front of the dash and pulled it forward to access the electronics. My switch had only 2 prongs, so I hooked up to the "lid closed" option on the new switch. It works perfectly now. Very pleased I gave it a try.

Followed the instructions and really quite easy to fix. I didn't know why dryer wouldn't turn on but went with the odds that the thermal fuse was the problem-- and it was. Once I got the part it was back together and running in less than 30 minutes!

Extremely easy! you can do this too. Just watch the video and have the few basic tools the video suggests. I am not skilled in repair at all. This part was shipped very fast and everything I needed was on the site. The hardest part was cleaning up the lint, seriously. Don't spend $100+ for a repair person to come to your home. This task is simple for anyone, any skill level.
