No heat
i checked the heater coil and it didn't look burnt out so i ordered a thermal fuse and thought it would fix the problem . However, it wasn't the thermal fuse it was the heatercoil. so now I have to order a heater coil. This was after i took another look at the coil and notice discoloration on it .

The dryer would not run.
I first noticed that the tab of the door switch snapped off so the safety on/off switch did not work when the door was closed. I temporarily taped the switch closed so I could use the dryer. I found the model number from the unit and easily found the schematic and part description from the website. I placed the order and had the part in a few days. Problem solved. Thank you

Coin op dryer would not turn on
Very easy. Watched the video. Was a snap. Ordered two different parts just in case. First part I changed was the problem. Returned the extra part. Just got an email that my return was processed. I'll use them again! Repair cost me 1/2 of my time and a $ 12.00 part! Saved alot of money!

Dryer would not cut on but you could hear a buzz when pushing start button.
My husband died in 2002 and I have tried to fix the things I could since then since a service call is so expensive.

I entered the model # on KitchenAid web site and said it would not start. One of the suggestions was this Thermal Fuse. Site said that 52% of the time this fuse was the reason it would not start. Since the part was less than $20.00 i decided to try fixing it myself. The most time involved was getting the dryer away from the wall and the getting the back panel off. Following instructions on the site I was able to disconnect the bad fuse and connect the new one. I did say a little prayer that it would work and it did. Thank you for all your instructions and help along the way. Jeannie

The heat on the gas dryer would not go on.
I searched the internet and found a paper on troubleshooting for my specific dryer. It suggested the problem maybe the fuse and how to test if the fuse was functioning or not by connecting the wires directly (bypassing the fuse). Sure enough it worked. Then I found this great site and bought the fuse. I received it in only a few days. Made the repair and everything is back to normal.
