Would not make ice
I ordered both the Ice maker and the control boards as It was for a rental and I did not want to make more trips then necessary to repair. I installed the new control boards and the ice maker and the refrigerator now makes ice.

Ice Door Leaking Air Into Freezer
Followed the lead of david from chesterfield in prying off out cover, unplugging it and setting it aside. Unscrewed and pulled out next assemply, and taped it above work area to avoid having to unplug. The pried pulled out pin to right holding ice door hinge to remove old unit. (Notice which way the spring faces before removing!) unplugged it. Ended up taking off push-dispenser handle (one screw on right) to get easier access. Then reinserted long pin being careful to have spring with two long tongs pointing down. Then put everything back together. Use all parts!

ice maker not making ice
My ice maker stopped producing ice after our refridgerator was accidently turned off for 4 days. Note: the on off switch in the front does turn the unit off even though the light stays on, why we need easy access to turn off the fridge is beyond me. Regardless, I spent way more time researching the problem then doing the repair. There is 2 things that could be wrong: 1 was the infra red light located on either side of the freezer, called the transmitter/reciever. 2 was the side of the ice maker control panel. Either one or if I had to replace both it would of been less then the cost of a repair man to come to my home. Prices here a good. I started with learning the diagnostic of the ice make which is learned by watching the red light flash. That informed me that it was working ok. Reference: if you hold back the hinged plate and pretend the door is shut the light should flash, flash, pause. This means its working. I went with the other route of the control module on the ice maker. This part came fast like 2 days. I watched the video on the parts web page and it was simple to do. You do have to wait until the temp goes down below 15 degrees in order for the ice maker to kick in. I won't buy another kenmore for I have had plenty of trouble with this one and its bearly 6 years old. I'm Definetly a fan of this website. Good luck DIY ers!

Water inlet valve leaked
Super simple repair, as it takes only a direct replacement of the valve. Removing and replacong the sdrews on the access cover took the majority of the repair time. Two screws retain the valve, and two electrical connections are very simple and easily reached. I would recoment using good sharp side cutters instaed of a knife to cut the three water lines.

ice maker quit making ice
I looked on line to see repair instruction videos on my refrigerator ice maker. When I saw how easy I went to PartSelect and order the part (control and motor assembly). I received the part in two days with the cheapest shipping option. My 33 yr old son was visiting when the delivery was made. After we opened the box, he went to the basement for tools and the rest is history. 10 minutes work and ice a couple of hours later! No problems since.

Track wouldn't slide or pop in readily.
Couldn't snap the track in no matter how much pressure I exerted. Was afraid I would break the plastic. Maybe it was the wrong part. Found a suggestion in the partsselect tips area. Used a nail file to slowly sand/grind down the plastic hubs. Took my time doing each one several times. Tested installation after each round of sanding down, so as not to go too far. Eventually (5 or 10 minutes of sanding) it popped right into place. What was even more amazing to me is that I ordered the part around 2P.M. on Friday and it was delivered to NJ the next day(Saturday) before noon.
