Ice despenser stoped working, auger motor worked if door flap was opened fully manuallyw
I Googled the problem and after reading several posting & suggestions decided that the Ice dispenser kit would probably solve the problem. I ordered both parts on the chance that it might be only the micro switch and it was only a $10 part, the ice dispenser kit was $50. The access was really easy and the switch was installed in about 20 minutes but did not solve the problem so I proceeded with the kit. The parts came out fairly easy but our actual set up was slightly different from the video and print instructions. Our model did not have the heating ribbon on the door flap and the little barrel part was permanently attached to the refrigerator so I thought I could be in trouble. Did not realize that we had cracker the lever bracket clip during removal so my husband "brainstormed" a fix. That's what we needed the large head screw and drill for. We drilled the screw into the refrigerator so it holding the spring loaded piece tightly in position. Works fine. I was told my a repairman over the phone that the dispenser was probably not fixable on our model. I saved an expensive service call AND GOT THE DISPENSER WORKING!

The refigerator door would not close easily - stayed ajar unless pushed closed
Great video on-line - remove door by unscrewing bracket (3 screws) at top of door; the door magnet will hold it to the face of the frig until you are ready to lift it off... Lift door off and position horizontally across a padded table or sawhorses. The door is actually very light in weight. The cams at the bottom were easy to put on - use care not to overtighten the retaining screw. The top thimble takes a lot of time to "dig out" of the top of the door - hard not to mar and bend the door in this area. This took almost one-half hour to get it out!! Putting in the new one, use care to not cave in the door corner, not a lot of structural strength in the area. Once all the door items are in place, put the door back in place on the frig and replace the top bracket to hold it in place; watch to line up the gap between the frig and freezer door so it hangs straight. Check the two cams at the door bottom - they won't fit perfectly when the door is in the closed position and that is OK... IMPORTANT - the door should now close, but it won't automatically shut on its own until you load the door back up with your food items. Once the items are in place on the door you will see that it now closes completely with very little to no effort... just like it should. Hope this is helpful!!!

Freezer Ok. Refrigerator Not Cooling.
Followed recommendations from others but went with most likely by percentage = defrost timer kit. Did not solve issue. Then went with bi-metal thermostat and that did not fix the problem. Tested the thermostat as recommended on line and old part was bad, new part ok. Then I saw on line that I should have listened for fan operation. I checked and found the fan motor to be defective. Replaced the motor and refrigerator worked fine. Both the motor and bi-metal thermostat were required. Should have checked fan operation first.

When you pressed on ice maker to get ice it was hard to get it to dispense
I followed along with the Video from the web site. I used the masking tape to keep the electric parts out of the way. one of the attaching points for the new ice door broke off so i used J B Weld to reattach it. then the repair was finished with out a hitch. The time was extended by the need to wait for the epoxy to cure

Ice maker won't make Ice, red light was not working.
It was fairly easy my 4 year old daughter helped me, I replaced the electronic boards with ease, the light worked but the water was not coming to the ice maker I checked the line noticed that there was Ice buildup inline so I used a tool to crush the ice and used the the turkey baster to flush the line with hot water, after that the ice maker started to work I saved a lot of money.

Ice dispenser was broken
My handyman did the repair. It was pretty easy for him. It would have been a real puzzle if we had not watched the video instructions. The new parts were slightly different than the old parts, but they fit perfectly. I thawed the frost buildup around the ice door and the opening of the ice bin with a hair drier, to get the ice to come out properly. Thank you so much for the video!

water dispencer not working, ice maker is working
This was not a through the door unit. The water dispenser is located inside the refrigerator. Unplug the refrigerator. Remove the two screws holding the cover over the dispenser parts. Could not remove the cover completely as there is a water supply line attached. Let the front of the cover down as far as you can get it. The micro switch is reachable. Move plastic retaining posts holding the switch in place, to the side to release the switch. This can be done with your fingers. Pop the switch out. Use the blade of the screw driver to gently pry the electrical connection plug away from the switch. Attach the new switch to the plug and put everything back in the reverse order of disassembly. Done, easy, even I could do it.

Ice dispensor door would not close, dripped water, frosted inside freezer
Google refrigerator Model #, found your site, saw parts diagram right away, clicked on part 'Ice Door Kit', noticed your video on how to do repair yourself, showed it to my husband, ordered part, and it arrived the next day. That was the hardest part of the whole repair. I have been without use of the ice dispenser for about 9 months - took 20 minutes from opening box to getting ice again and saved myself a whole lot of money. I am one happy camper!!!

Refrigerator Freezer Ice Door Broken
Job went as per your terrific video. Except that when attempting to retrieve the old heater element the glue on the old door was no long pliable. I had to literally tear the old foam apart to get at the heater element and almost damaged it. Not to worry. It worked out well and all is great. Thanks for the very instructive video.
