Need to replace a broken icemaker
Rather than pay a repairman an assessment fee, then the cost of the repair to the existing icemaker, I decided to replace the icemaker for a lot less. The Add On Icemaker kit came with installation instructions. The kit included the ice maker, as well as the hose and water feed control on the back. Originally, I was nervous about attempting to replace the icemaker. I watched a video on YouTube about replacing an icemaker and saw how easy it could be. Following the enclosed directions, and Wow!, it was extremely easy to remove and add the new icemaker. Don't pay to have someone else do it! This is a no-brainer.

Refrigerator Door Not Closing
All you need is nut driver. Top hinge has 3 screws. Once you remove the screws, lift door. It is light. I place door of my sofa. I removed screws and pried the cam insert with a spatula. You can also you flat screwdriver. I also replace the other piece located at bottom of refrigerator. Now place door back onto metal rest. May need someone near floor to guide you. Once on the rest, close door and replace top screws. Forgot to mention that I emptied door shelves before removing door.

Refrigerator Door wont close
Followed the Partselect instructions - removed door, removed old cam and replaced with new cam. One lesson learned. There are two cams - one that sits on hinge below door and one that is up inside bottom of door. If you are replacing one, replace them both.

Both light bulbs had been replaced, but lights did not turn on.
I tried to remove the old light switch using a putty knife and a hammer. It was hard to compress the plastic tabs to pull it back through the hole, but all of a sudden, the lights came on. I guess banging on the switch freed-up the contacts. The new switch is now a spare part in case I need it.

Broke the arm off the food compartment rocker switch
After receiving the new part almost immediately, using two screw drivers, removed the broken switch from the plastic frame. Be careful not to scratch or otherwise tear the plastic...very pliable. Since the original switch was factory installed and the wires were packed in fiberglass insulation, the switch came out but the wires and clips were still in place and could not reach the new switch. It was necessary to pull them down with bent long nose pliers...used a lot of "pull" but the wires held up.Connected the switch, turned the power on and there was light! Reports from other users really took the uncertainty out of the task.

popping sound when door opened beyond 90 degrees
I would never attempt an appliance repair but after watching the video instructions for installing this part I decided to give it a try even though I'm dangerous with a screwdriver. After retrieving a nutdriver from my $39 handy dandy tool set, it was a piece of cake. Upper hinge cover, hinge, door removal, comes off in a matter of minutes. Only problem surfaced when I went to install my new cam in the lower hinge. It didn't fit. It was actually for the upper door hinge. I reinstalled the lower plastic piece (whatever it's called), tightened it down, put the door back on (you can do it yourself if it's the refrig. side) and popping sound was gone. I guess the bottom hinge plastic piece was probably loose but you can't tighten it unless you remove the door. I now have a upper door cam in my drawer ready when it fails and will replace it without hesitation.

Fridge was bought some years back without icemaker
The fridge was prepped for an ice maker but was never installed. After much aggravation of people not filling the ice trays I gave up and installed the ice maker. This is probably the hottest summer on record, and we were going thru a lot of ice. Lost a little real estate in the freezer by the ice maker but it was well worth it. Now I know I have fresh ice for cocktails in the evening!Install was fast and easy. A little longer than usual because I had to run the water line as well.

Cracked drip tray
Unscrewed the rear water valve and water line, and front water filter which allowed me to remove the old drip tray. New drip tray is smaller than the original tray, so I needed to put blocking in to keep tray under drip spout. Refastened the water filter, water valve and water line.
