ice maker stop making ice
Did exactly what the video showed . First I went through the test procedure to conferm my boards were bad . But ice maker didn't work after the control boards were replaced. I did some more research to find out what the problem now could be. I discovered where the water goes into the ice tray the line was frozen. Got the hair dryer out and melted the ice that had the water restricted. Been making ice every since. I tell everybody about (part select) web. Sight now

Ice Maker running over, water/ice fall in freezer
Used hair dryer to melt ice so I could remove old ice maker. Used old icemaker Model #2198597 to order new ice maker. New ice maker water funnel that catches water that goes into the ice mode was higher then the older one. Everything else looked ok. I contacted parts select and was told, if I took the new icemaker apart and it didn't work I could not return it. After three phone calls I was told that I could keep the new ice maker and they would refund my money. So I was left with take the new ice maker apart or cut down the funnel. I cut down the funnel and slid the new ice maker into place. My second choice was to take the new ice maker apart & put on the old funnel. Parts select (Susan) has sent me an email that I would get my money back as the part was not correct. I feel bad about this the way it worked out. It took me about 20 minutes to cut the 1/2 inch off the new funnel.

Ice dispenser door dislodged/broken-causing ice/frost in freezer
Watch the Video! My reefer's ice door/spring 'pin' removal and installation is different than what is shown in the video. That is, my spring 'pin' looks more like a long nail (with a head on the right end). After inserting the left end of the pin into the hole, the head end drops down into a notch, which makes removal and installation easier than what is shown in the video. It is much easier to reinstall everything if the 'ice-chute' is installed first. Then, maneuver the ice door assembly into place and install the pin. I used Blue masking tape to hold the control panel up and out of the way. This is the second ice-door repair since I've had this refrigerator. It seems to occur with 'heavy' use of "crushed" ice. Some crushed ice backs up behind the ice door/flap, jams/holds the flap open, letting warm air into the freezer, causing the crushed ice to freeze into a big 'clump' of ice (too big to come out of the chute, and causes frost in the freezer. If you get a clog like this, I suggest removing the ice "bin" and gently clearing the clog from the top side of the ice chute with tongs or needle nose pliers. If you try to remove the clog from the bottom of the ice chute, the door becomes dislodged or breaks...

Ice maker in freezer stopped making ice
I followed the steps in the video posted on webpage describing the part. I watched a sement, performed the steps, and then watched the next segment. I spent more time trying to locate my nut driver set then I spent doing the actual repair.

Ice maker stopped making ice.
After determining by the flashing light code what the problem was, I ordered the parts. Once the parts arrived, it took 15 minutes to install them by the instructions that came with them and two hours later I was making ice again. Very easy repair and there is a video on the website that shows exactly how to do it.

Ice maker would not send ice through the dispenser
Opened the freezer door. Removed the ice bin from the freezer compartment. Removed with a nutdriver the two screws holding down the shaft holder (the triangular white plastic piece). Removed the shaft holder and the circular seal underneath. Pulled the hexagonal metal shaft up and out of the dispenser motor. Installed new circular seal and reinstalled the plastic shaft holder, etc..

I accidentally broke the arm that distributes the cubes to the ice bucket about a year ago. Just recently, the malfunction caused the entire thing to freeze up because the frozen cubes weren't cleared from the ice tray.
Remove 1 screw from the cover that hides the wiring harness, pull out the assembly and disconnect it. Swap the bottom mounting tray to the new ice maker and reverse the process. Way easier than I anticipated. No need to freeze your hands in the freezer, once you have the old one out you're working on the counter.

Water filter cap on my Whirlpool refrigerator was inadvertently disposed of in one of my earliest filter change efforts. I needed to replace it for esthetics and personal peace of mind.
Ordered the replacement filter cap. Received it, cut open plastic shipping envelope after unsuccessful attempts to tear envelope by hand, snapped cap in place; Wallaah, project completed successfully!!!
