Watched a couple videos on youTube that walked us through the process. We aren't very "handy" people, but decided to give it a try. The videos just walked us through step by step. Easy! And this company provided FAST delivery!!

1) Removed 1 bolt that held a cover for the wiring harness. 2) slid out assembly 3) unplugged wiring harness. 3) removed the base from the old and attached it to the new [3 bolts] 4) reversed steps 3 thru 1.

Removed ice maker flap;using nutdriver removed screw/nut visible on right;pulled unit out until electrical visible; disconnected electrical;removed old unit;removed old unit from fram;(3-screw/bolts)assembled new unit on frame;reinserted unit&connected electical. Ice cubes formed in about 1hr.

Watched the informative video of the same repair twice so I would know what to do and the order in which to do it... the video made the removal of the old part and installation of the new part a breeze. Just follow the instructions and anyone could do this home repair, even those not mechanically inclined. Outcome success gave me confidence to do more of these types of repairs myself and save $$.

Removed and replaced retaining clip and installed a new strain relief. Parts arrived in 2 days from the time they were ordered. No problems whats-so-ever. Great doing business with Parts Select again.

The video on the website on replacing the Icemaker Assembly is great. I watched it then performed the R&R. It would have taken less than 15 mins but I took the time to clean the components which were reused. The water receiver on the new assembly is taller than the original. Luckily the water outlet in the freezer is rubber so I was able to bend it out of the way so I could slide in the new unit. The wiring plug in the new assembly was installed in reverse of the old one so I had to pull the unit back out, turn the wiring plug upside down, put it back in place then re-install the unit. Had a couple minor changes to make but the video is a great teacher.

I followed the instructions on the information sheet provided as well as watching a demo video on YouTube. Actual replacement of the emitter and receiver boards took only 5 minutes, but I was not sure it was working till I could here the ice maker harvesting the cubes. Still wanted to be sure so I kept an eye on it for a few hours. Each time I looked in there was more ice. I am so glad I found your website. Parts were about $106. Labor would have cost that much and the repair guy I talked to on the phone said he would probably have to replace the whole unit.

Used the trouble shooting off of YouTube and after finding that the heater was not at the right resistance, ordered a new ice-maker and installed. Very simple and a lot cheaper than going through Sears.

Turn ice maker control off,hold up front cover remove two screws, remove cover, remove rear screw on the back right side, slide unit part way out, make sure flipper on left is out of the way, unplug connector on right, remove unit,remove bottom cover & put on new unit,install in reverse order, turn ice maker control on, done

I went on line and found your web sight. There was a list of the parts by number and I clicked on the rilght one. It brought up a video for repairing it myself. It was so simple. I just followed your instructions and within an hour I had ice. It makes so much ice I'm going to have to give it away. No really its great.

I read the other replies and decided to replace the boards. It worked!!!! Ice right away!!! I would have only needed to chafe that if I didn't muscle the ice maker arms around in frustration and brek it!!! This website is great!! Parts came fast and accurate !!!! Thanks parts select !!! Water was not filling the ice tray and the ice tray coating was comming off. After the service repairman wanted to charge me over 500.00 for just replacing the ice maker, it told him to take a hike. I bought the icemaker and the electronic controls, which controls when and how much water goes into the tray for less than 250.00 and it took me less than 15 minutes to replace.

I had ordered some other parts for something entirely different off your website and service was great. So after almost ten years of a dark refrigerator, because of a defective switch, I decided to see if you had the part to fix it... You did and the part got here in 3 days. I had a working light switch and all the light in the world where my husband needed it most (in the fridge). It took me at the most ten minutes to replace the part. All is well now and I have a happy husband who can find the leftovers just fine. Thanks for your great service!
