Ice Maker Not Making Ice.
Watched the trouble shooting & installation videos , checked to make sure water was getting to the door. I look'ed closely at the entire unit. Every thing seem'ed to be ok. I made a guess as to which part to order. The control motor or the thermostat. The control motor made more sense to me. I made the right guess. Works like new.

Water dispensor leaking/Retainer clip bent
I couldn't figure out if the front plate would come off so getting access to the screw to unscrew it was problematic at first. I don't have whatever tool you need to get at that angle so I used an Allen wrench with a 6.5 mm socket to unscrew the screw and replace the clip. After figuring that combination out it went really fast.

No ice from ice maker
Parts Select has great videos that describe step-by-step how to perform the repair. I did a sloppy job of diagnosing the problem, and concluded it was the water valve. The actual problems was that the ice maker was not sending a signal to the valve to send water. I could have determined this if I had tested the ice maker using all of the connection points where a jumper wire could be inserted. The ice maker arrived on my doorstep exactly when promised, and was an easy ten-minute fix. My conclusion is that an average person CAN work on their own appliances with a company like PartsSelect to backstop them.

plastic catches broken off ice guide
Just remove old one which was really easy since it was practically falling off and replace with new one. It is a bit tricky because you are afraid of breaking the new one. Watch the video and you will be more confident. I was REALLY impressed with the shipping. I ordered on Monday afternoon and when I returned home Tuesday afternoon it was waiting for me on my porch , and this was the week between Christmas and New Year when everyone was fussing about not receiving packages. NOT ME!

Ice maker stopped working
After viewing the very clear video. Remove the ice maker door by first lifting the door and pressing in on the hinges. Remove the screw in the back lower right of ice maker with a one quarter inch nut driver and lift out the cover to expose the wiring harness. Pull the ice maker unit forward and out and reach behind it to pull out the wiring harness plug. The plug only comes out if you depress the small "push clip" in the center of the harness plug. Turn the old ice maker unit upside down and remove the three screws again with the one quarter inch nut driver to lift off the plastic cover. The wiring harness plug need to be pushed through the plastic housing to remove the plastic cover completely. Reinstall the plastic cover on the new ice maker. Reverse the procedure and install the new ice maker. This is really a simple repair if you watch the video.

ice maker stop making ice
Did exactly what the video showed . First I went through the test procedure to conferm my boards were bad . But ice maker didn't work after the control boards were replaced. I did some more research to find out what the problem now could be. I discovered where the water goes into the ice tray the line was frozen. Got the hair dryer out and melted the ice that had the water restricted. Been making ice every since. I tell everybody about (part select) web. Sight now

Ice Maker running over, water/ice fall in freezer
Used hair dryer to melt ice so I could remove old ice maker. Used old icemaker Model #2198597 to order new ice maker. New ice maker water funnel that catches water that goes into the ice mode was higher then the older one. Everything else looked ok. I contacted parts select and was told, if I took the new icemaker apart and it didn't work I could not return it. After three phone calls I was told that I could keep the new ice maker and they would refund my money. So I was left with take the new ice maker apart or cut down the funnel. I cut down the funnel and slid the new ice maker into place. My second choice was to take the new ice maker apart & put on the old funnel. Parts select (Susan) has sent me an email that I would get my money back as the part was not correct. I feel bad about this the way it worked out. It took me about 20 minutes to cut the 1/2 inch off the new funnel.

replacing condenser fan motor
Using a 1/4" ratchet removed the old motor, a bit difficult due to small space to get your hand and ratchet in position. Before installing the new motor I used one of the screws to tap the the 3 holes in the new motor so it would be easier to start the screws attaching motor to mounting bracket. Attached cable. plugged in the fridge. Great to hear a quit running refrigerator again.
