These Weed Eater Blades are 8-3/8 x 1-1/2 inch black, metal blades which come individually sold and attach to the output shaft. Installation requires a wrench set and socket set, and is rated as "Easy". This blade is used for edging the grass around walkways and driveways. If the blade hits pavement it may break, and you will notice a vibration or poor trimming, and the part must be replaced. 9" EDGER BLADE HAS WORN DOWN TO ABOUT 8"
Start by disconnecting spark plug wire. Using a 3/4" boxed end wrench to back up the edger blade shaft on the side opposite the blade, use a 1/2" ratchet with a 3/4" socket to remove the nut holding the blade on. It should be tight, and comes off by turning to the left. May need a small piece of 2 X 4 to go between the end of box wrench and your driveway to lock in place. Remove old blade and install new. As there is not a slot or key to hold the blade in place, tighten nut as tight as you can in order to hold the blade on the shaft. Replace spark plug wire and job is complete.
