I first turned off the power to the freezer before the install and made sure to remove the ice tray. I used the box the ice maker was shipped in to keep the old unit propped up as I was unscrewing it. I first unscrewed the single bracket screw below the teeth, then put in the box and unscrewed the two top screws. Be sure to use a long head screwdriver so you can work from the outside of the freezer. Also, don't expect the unit to make ice immediately, it takes about 30 min to an hour to cycle and start to make the ice.
