I opened the door and inserted a flat screwdriver between the inner and outer doors to snap the inner door away from the outer door. I then took a phillips screw driver and removed the door handle screws from the old handle or remnants of it. I then installed the new door handle by putting the phillips head screws in the handle from the back side of the outside door. I then snapped the inner door back in place. Here is one criticism of the part that was supplied: This part is very simple and cheap plastic. The cost of that handle was $60 delivered and is not original equipment manufacturered parts. I took the old GE sticker off of the old handle and glued in onto the new handle to make the microwave oven look right.
