This repair is actually easy to do however the problem I had was removing the door. It seems the kitchen aid engineers decided to have the sound insulation installed with adhesive. This means the door doesn't just easily remove like the video shows. I had to carefully scrape the back side with a 4" drywall tape knife. It's glued on both sides and the insulation covers the soap dispenser. Result was I had to carefully cut an access to the dispenser with a box cutter to get access. Be careful not to cut the dispenser wire when you make the opening. I would also cycle the washer before you reinstall the door as I didn't get mine tight enough and it leaked so I saved a bunch of time. I also changed the control unit because it is often the cause of the problem and since this my daughters who lives 10 hours a away. I decided it was a good investment. Finally Parts Select is great received the parts next day great service kudos to them.
