plastic broke on the timer

I'm the woman of the house, my husband hates repairing anything so I went on the internet to find a replacement part for my dishwasher. My husband said he would have just used needle nose pliers to turn what was left of the plastic part in the timer instead of buying a new part
First I removed the 2 screws that hold the timer in place, unplugged all wires leading to the timer, then pulled it out, installed the new timer, plugged all wires into the new one, put the 2 screws back in and reassembled the door of the dishwasher.
