This range hood filter measures approximately 12-inches by 12-inches and works to capture oils and grease that become airborne during the cooking process, as well as reduce the amount of smoke production and purify and protect the exhaust system. This range hood filter has a built-in charcoal filter in addition to the aluminum filter housing, but due to the material of the charcoal filter, it cannot be cleaned and must only be replaced. It is important to clean your range hood and the filter housing every 2-3 months, but the charcoal filter itself needs to be replaced every 6-12 months, all depending on the amount and type of cooking you do. If you notice your range hood filter has visible grease buildup, restricted airflow, or lingering unpleasant odors, it may be worth checking and replacing it. Replacing this filter and lens is as easy as pulling firmly on it to remove it and then placing the edge of the filter into the range hood opening and pressing it into position.
