First, I shut off the water to the whole house, then caution taped off the kitchen and put dogs in kennels. I sent wife and kids to her moms for the weekend. After the coast was clear I called up the buddies and we prepared for the rebuild. Second, I pulled the dishwasher out and hoisted it in the air with the cherry picker so I wouldn't strain my back bending over (safety first!). After that it was break time, a round of beers to relax and slow down, you don't want to rush things. Third we left to go to the bar to let all the water drain out, you don't want to get your clothes wet do you? When I got back it was to dark so I just went to bed.
