Washer Not spinning and motor buzzing
Most washers I looked at do not use a start capacitor but my model did and after testing the capacitor it showed open and was slightly deformed. If you have a this problem the capacitor is located behind the front panel about half way up on the right side zip tied to the side of the washer. It is always good to check the capacitor before spending big bucks for a motor you may not need.

The washer doesn't agitate or spin. Ive changed the belt , the agitator coupler is good. Could it be the capacitor
For model number WHDSR209DAWW

Hi Marcus, Thank you for your question. It could you be your capacitor. It does not often go out though. You will need a capacitor tester to test your capacitor. You should probably check your lid switch as well. If your lid switch is not working it will not allow your appliance to spin. You may also want to check your transmission. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I replaced the transmission/mode selector with a factory-refurbished unit this week, along with the outer tub that cracked, the tub bearing, split ring and washer and seal, but while it goes through the wash cycle fine with no leaks, when it comes to the spin cycle I noticed by then the motor is very hot and hums and it does not have enough power to start the spin cycle, but I can "jump start" it by turning its pulley a little. It will start turning and then complete the spin cycle. The motor otherwise seems to turn freely by hand with the belt off, so its bearings are not seizing up unless maybe it does a little when it is hot after the agitation cycle. Can you help?

Hello Randall, Thanks for your question. This could be due to the capacitors to the motor. You may want to test the capacitor parts with a multimeter to test for electrical continuity, and replace them if they show no continuity. I hope this helps.

I took capacitor out ant tested it with a multimeter. The reading was 1. I have no idea what it's suppose to read as the old capacitor has no information on it. The machine is 14 years old. Any idea what the readin means?
For model number WHDRR418E1WW

Hi Mary, thank you for your question. If your capacitor is working correctly when you touch each probe to a terminal, the needle on your meter should quickly deflect to 0 ohms but then immediately go back to reading infinite resistance. If it stayed at 1 for you, then it may be that the capacitor is not working. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I had open the lid when the machine was agate washing and now the machine will not agate during washing but the machine continues thru the cycles. Now it will not agate during washing and rinsing.

Hi Jesse, Thank you for your inquiry. If your washer is not agitating you will need to check the agitator, the agitator coupling, the belt, the tub dampening straps, the transmission and brake assembly the lid switch assembly, the tub seal and the capacitor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

This part # PS3406186 is a capacitor for my washing machine. It has two terminals on it…. are they specific positive and negative and marked as such or does it not matter how the wires are plugged onto it? Thank You Gene Kruger

Hi Gene, thank you for reaching out. We have found a relevant video to help you. Polarity is a very important concept in electronics, especially when physically constructing circuits. But in your case, polarity does not matter, you can change it directly. We hope this helps.

I open the lid to add more clothes and the machine would agitate any more after that.
For model number WJRR4170E1WW

Hi Jesse, Thank you for the question. Sounds like you need to replace the Lid Switch assembly. If it is defective it will think the lid is still open and will not let the washer proceed through the cycles. Hope this helps!
