Fridge and freezer were not getting cold. Clicking sound when compressor shutting off.
We noticed that items if the fridge portion of the refrigerator were starting to go bad before they should have and that the items in the freezer were not solidly frozen at times. I actually had two parts that needed to be replaced on my refrigerator, the relay assembly located near the compressor and the temperature control switch located in the freezer section. My fridge was making a clicking sound several months before it stopped working. I used the symptoms link on the website to help me locate what part might be the culprit and found the relay switch near the compressor bad and replaced it. A few days later we still had the same problem of both the fridge and freezer not being cold enough. Turns out the temperature controller in the freezer was just barely turning on when it would get warm enough in the freezer section. Once that part was replaced the refrigerator worked like new. It took me a while to find both problems since one was masked by the other but the website was a great help in finding both and getting the parts to fix everything.

Been having problems with my refrigerator. Replaced stop relay, overload switch and defrost thermostat switch. Freezer runs for a few hours then stops and takes forever to restart, fridge is warm when it does. I shut it off for a couple off days and when i turned it back on, the start relay didn't kick in until the thermostat control knob was at the coldest setting. What is up with this?

Hello William, Thank you for the question. The next part to check is the Temperature Control, PartSelect Number PS11743518. This is the switch behind the knob. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

The temperature in the upper compartment of my fridge is not constant. I keep bottled water in the fridge, and every so often it completely freezes even though i haven't changed the temperature setting. When i do attempt to change the temperature setting it doesn't have any effect. The temperature control knob is "spongy" and doesn't distinctively stay on a particular setting. Could this be the problem, and how do i fix it.

Hi John, Thank you for your question. The knob may be the issue. If you need to replace the knob, the part number for it is PS1631909. If the refrigerator is too cold, there are some other parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the defrost thermostat, the damper belt, the center refrigerator crisper drawer slide rail, the defrost timer, the air damper/gear assembly, the evaporator fan blade and the temperature control. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

I would like to know how to check a thermosat wp67003000 with a multimeter if it is good or bad meaning if i should replace it
For model number 596.67992600

Hi Serge, thank you for your question. This part should turn off at 0 degrees C and then turn on again when it reaches 10 degrees C. You can test if this part has continuity with your multi meter there by removing it from the appliance and using some ice water to manipulate the temperatures. Good luck with your repair.
