This part has been updated by the manufacturer. This updated part now has 7 wire terminals instead of 5. The terminals are all labeled, however, the new switch needs to be tested before connecting the pilot lamp wire (P). To test the new switch:
1) Connect the Line Wires (L1 and L2), connect the Load Wires (H1 and H2).
2) Do not connect the pilot lamp (P) wire yet.
3) Reconnect the power to the range and turn on the new switch and one other switch.
4) Connect the leads of a volt meter on L1 of the new switch and P of the other switch you turned on.
5) If the volt meter reads 220V, the L1 and L2 wires on the new switch must be reveresed.
6) Disconnect power, reverse Line Wires if needed and connect the P wire.
7) Reconnect power to the range after reassembly.

I replaced the old switch with the new one and wired according to instructions. Burner works fine, small and large burners, high and low temps.Cycles on and off as it should. However, one indicator light is always on even when burner is off. Any idea why? Thanks

Hi Steve, Thank you for the question. It sounds like one of the switches may a shorted contact inside.The way to determine which one is to use an ohmmeter. First unplug the range from the power source. Next disconnect the wire on the back of the switch marked "P" and check for continuity on each switch between the terminals marked L1 and L2 to the terminal marked "P". The one that shows continuity is the shorted one and the one that needs to be replaced.Hope this helps!

The dual heating element only heats up for the inner small ring and not the larger outer ring. Will this switch fix this or is it the heating element itself?

The connection from my dual burner knob no longer works. Is this infinity switch what is needed? The burner elements checked out fine when the service guy was here but he said sears cannot get the part now.

We just ordered and put in new Large burner #23 now the burner is only stuck on high heat it will not go to low it won't cycle to regulate the heat...what is our problems?

Hi Judy,
Thank you for your question. If you have just replaced the right front surface element and you are unable to adjust the temperature on the element, then the issue is likely the switch and you may need to replace it. You will need to test the switch with a multimeter for continuity to see if it is working correctly. Using a multimeter on the Rx1 mode, test for continuity by touching the L1 and H1 terminals with the probes. Once you have completed that test, touch the probes to the L2 & H2 terminals. If your test results indicate that there is no continuity between one or both sets of terminals, you need a replacement infinite switch. You should also test the surface element. With the multimeter set to the Rx1 setting, touch each of the terminals one at a time with one probe while holding the other probe to the outside surface of the element. If either terminal shows continuity, it is defective. To test the entire element for continuity, place each of the probes on the terminals, one on each. The exact reading you should receive varies between models, refer to your owner’s manual to determine what yours should be, but if any element has a reading outside of 19 to 115 ohms, it is defective. If you do not receive the correct readings from the tests above or find damage on your element, you will need a replacement surface burner element. We hope this helps! Hi, I replace the dual switch, but the large burner is still not working. The small coils turn red and you can see the very outer edge of the larger section somewhat turning red. However, the larger section is not working. I watched your video on replacing the smaller burner, could the larger one be replaced as well? If so, what is the part number?
