VERY NOISY!!!
Have done this before - dissembled, cleaned everything, re-assembled with new parts - rear bearing, idler, and belt. Hardest part is getting the spring back on the idler pulley.
You take the top lid off, remove the front panel and then the drum. remove the access panel on the back to release the spring tension on the idler pulley, then remove the drum. Vacuum clean everything, then reassemble with new stem and bearing, new belt, and idler pulley. Test spin drum by hand - if belt comes off it's likely twisted. Put belt back on and try again. Try operating with air mode to spin drum. If belt stays on, complete re-assembling and make sure you have no screws left over!

Drum didn't turn
Removed small panel from back of Dryer, and removed Idler Pulley Assembly. From the front, lifted the top of Dryer to get access to the drum, disconnected the two wires for the Stop switch, removed the four screws, two on each side, and lowered down the front panel. Now,removed old belt and installed new, installed new Idler Pulley Assembly, aligned belt with Pulley.Reassembled the front and the top of the Dryer and I was done. The pulley was squeaking, but a shot of DW40 took care the problem.
Thanks

Bearing wore out in original idler pulley
Removed rear inspection plate, removed pulley spring and one hex bolt, replaced in reverse order. Very simple removal and install for this. Glad to see that Part Select still had parts for this 22 year old drier.

Dryer drum would not turn.
The first part was the most difficult-opening the front of the dryer cabinet! Once open, the new belt was installed and then the new idler pulley was put in-place. The cabinet was closed-job done.

Belt broke and the pulley broke.
I unplugged the dryer. Undid the top by taking out 2 screws and mounts on each side of the back. There were two screws in the front panel that had to be removed. One on each side. Then I took the two wires off the killer switch on the door. Marking which was top and which was bottom. Then I removed the front panel. Then I undid the drum which had 3 screws in. I took out the drum to find the problem. I replaced the drum putting the belt on. Then I took off the back panel at the bottom of the dryer to get at the idler arm. Took off the spring and unhooked the arm. I put the new arm on and replaced the spring. I then put the belt on to the pulley and closed up the back panel. I put back the front panel. I put the top back on. I plugged it back in and turned it on and it worked!

Intermittent squealing noise
I've replaced the rear plastic bearing on this dryer twice, so I am familiar with taking the unit apart. After replacing the bearing in December, the machine still made noise (which had been masked by how loud the bearing was). The belt didn't look so great and it's 13 years old, so I ordered one and a new idler pulley assembly.

Broken Belt and Bad Idler Pulley
I unplugged the power cord first of all. Then I pulled the dryer away from the wall so I could get behind it and take off the small vent cover that had two screws holding it. Then I reached in and grabbed the old, broken belt and pulled it out. I reached in and disconnected the idler pulley off of the metal stud that it slid onto and then disconnected the spring off of it. After receiving the new parts I took the new idler pulley and reattached the spring to it and then attached the metal housing to the metal stud where the slot was at. I went to the front of the dryer and took the screws out of the top of the door housing pried the door housing away from the top of the dryer about 8". Also I opened the door of the dryer where I took the new belt and put it around the dryer drum as far as I could get it towards the back. Then I went to the back of the dryer. I put my hand into the vent hole and grabbed ahold of the belt and pulled it all the way towards the back where the old belt used to ride on the dryer drum. Then I pulled all the slack and put the belt over on the pulley that was on the motor. After that I pulled the idler pulley back far enough to position the belt on the pulley and that caused tension on the belt. I then put the vent cover back in place on the back of the dryer and put the two screws in it to hold it. I went around to the front and closed the door on the dryer and put the front housing back into place. After that I put the screws into the top of the front housing. The job was complete so I plugged in the dryer to test it and everything worked fine.
