I unplugged the dryer, removed the vent pipe, moved the dryer out to remove the back to get at the wiring and the thermostat's. Used the volt-ohmmeter to check for bunt out fuses and thermostats. The thermal fuse was out. If that part burns out there is trouble with one or all of the other safety devises, which is hard to check, so I replaced all 4 of heat controls. It was easy and now I do not have to worry about the dryer over heating. Thank you for your suggestion on what might be wrong and how to fix it.
