disconnected power to range, unscrewed plate holding element to back of oven. To disconnect old element from leads a bit difficult because they are flexible. So we braced the plate on a piece of wood so things wouldn't twist. It was a little hard to find the right size nut but once found the little screws came loose with a little tugging. A flashlight came in handy. We then put new element in, reversed the procedure, tightened everything, reconnected power, did a test and voila our new element began to glow red. We were happy to save $$ on the element cost but we avoided paying for a repairmen. Great
