Same repairs required by the majority of the posts. Early in the problem the motor and auger would turn but very little ice would dispense. Problem: Helix lock plate was stripped. Did not replace in time and auger would jam, finally stripping out the dispenser motor shaft. The fix was replace the dispenser motor even though it was only the shaft that was stripped. Entire repair was easy. To replace the Helix Lock remove the entire ice tray. Carefully disassemble the entire unit with a screwdriver/driver, noting the order of the crush blades and other parts for reassembly. Once auger is removed replace the helix lock plate and reassemble ice tray. To replace dispenser motor, use a nut driver to remove motor unit panel from back of the freezer. Only remove the screws necessary to remove the panel from freezer. Not all the screws need to be removed, some attach the motor to the panel and the others are for the dispenser door mechanism. Disconnect the two electrical connectors before removal. Once the panel is removed from the freeze, use pliers or vice grips to hold the motor shaft while removing the auger drive disp attachment. Some posts said they had to cut the shaft with although I was able to pry the attachment until enough of the threads caught and i could twist it off. Once drive auger attachment is removed, remove screws attaching the motor to the panel, disconnect the electrical cords (noting the position) and slide the motor out of the panel. Replace with the new motor and reconnect the electrical connections and screws. Make sure that the dispenser door mechanism is still securely attached and properly aligned. Reattach panel to freezer and reconnect the electrical. Insert ice tray and unit now works properly.
