Washer agitator no longer moved
After googling the issue, I found a video suggesting that if the agitator spins freely, it's because the plastic agitator dogs are worn and not engaging.

I bought the parts, and they arrived quickly. The agitator bolt in my unit was so rusted that I had to use a bit of CLR to get a look at it, and it was so worn that all my sockets spun freely. I used a bolt extractor and it came out with only a little effort.

From there, I was able to pop out the agitator and separate the two halves. The old cam kit was definitely trashed. It was easy to remove.
I mistakenly put the yellow plastic retainer on the cam kit on upside down, which meant it failed to lock into place. As a result, when I first tried to put it in, it fell apart. I realized the error and adjusted.

It was a little tricky to line up the cam kit correctly, but only took a few tries. It snapped into place pretty easily.

I replaced the large o-ring around the cap barrier, so that this new bolt will hopefully not rust so easily.

It was easy enough to get the agitator back together and in place. It works great now.

Top half of agitator would not work.
My unit is 12 years old and this is the first issue I have had with it "Whirlpool washing machine". Repair was very easy and simple. The only problem I ran into was the agitator bolt head had came into contact with water. The head had rusted and crumbled witch made the repair take longer than normal.
I had my daughter time the reassembly witch took 8 minutes. I strongly suggest using name brand parts over aftermarket, wither you get them from PartSelect or elsewhere I don't care. Try the repair yourself, you can do it.

Washer would not Agitate or spin out. Also noticed an oil leak.
I followed instructions provided from Parts Select for removing and replacing the coupler assembly, and also instructions for changing the clutch assembly. I also took it's transmission apart (socket set and flat screwdriver required), drained the old oil, cleaned it, added new 90W gear oil. The instructions covered the swapping of parts very well. Cleaning up the oil spill took as long as changing the parts.

Washer not spinning properly.
Being female & never working on appliances, it was a challenge for me. I took the spinning unit apart: 1) Outer cap 2) Inner cap 3) Screw, nut & bolt popped out. Rusty & wouldn't lock into place anymore. Ordered nut & washer at about $10 + shipping. Total $17 from MayTag Rec'd right at 7 days via USPS. Used nutdriver/wrench to screw in new bolt w/washer. Wah la! That did it! Washer working great now! Now that I'm a "diy" handy person, I'm ready for my next challenge. Hopefully, none!

could not get the bottom agitator to release, so finally just left it in place, first bolt I had did not fit right so ordered one directly from your store also had to wait dor my tools to get in
I am an old woman who is disabled and without any tools or knowledge, but sheer stubbornness and will power, I waited for my tools and other parts to come in, in the mean time I fixed my young neighbors whirlpool washer, well We took top off the nut I had already pre assembled her cam so set it in place of old one put bolt back in place and the top of agitator she says works perfectly now, my parts came in I had nothing to remove as my handicap daughter had already thrown away all the loose parts, I threw away old top agitator, assembled cam and put in place still did not feel tight enough so added seal from other nut!! it worked tight enough, put the inner part back in with new part and soap put the top back on and now works good as new, was disappointed could not put bottom agitator in place, just not strong enough lol well this was my story

Doi need to buy an additional washer (#20) or does the gasket on the screw (#4) serve as the washer? The screw is $4 and the washer by itself is $5. Weird.
For model number 1DNET3205TQ0
PartSelect logo
Hi David, Thank you for your question. If you purchase number 4 in the diagram, you will get both the screw and the washer. You do not have to purchase the washer separately. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I would like your suggestion. The head of the hex head bolt is stripped. How can i remove the old one this is the part number partselect number ps11741866 Manufacturer part number wp358237 thanks rick gates
For model number PartSelect Number PS11741866

Hello Rick, Thank you for your inquiry. I would try a pair of pliers first. The other suggestion would be to use a rotary tool to cut a slit in the head of the screw and see if you can remove it with a flat head screwdriver. Hope this helps!

I have an old Kenmore elite 3 speed automatic washer, with agitator, sn#cm1716414, type 111 large tub washer. Not sure how old it is. It stopped spinning the water from the drum, and when i turn the dial to another spin cycle it makes a humming or "stuck" noise (not loud at all). Are parts still available for this machine.?

All seems to work well but laundry comes out not clean - as if there is an issue with some residue on parts or something clogged and not allowing the machine to fulfill its mission... maybe someone has some ideas where to start? thanks!!!
For model number Admiral Capacity Plus Model # LNC6760B71
PartSelect logo
Hi Matias, Thank you for your question. If you are finding residue on your clothes, there are a number factors that may be to blame. This could be the result of pocket lint, undissolved laundry detergent, too much detergent being used, a dirty washer, overloading the wash cycle, unsorted clothes, hard water and a clogged or faulty water pump. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
