Center section of element failed.
Following the instructions from the internet, removed the two screws holding the stove top, pulled top toward me, and disconnected the two cables. Lifted the top off and placed it on the blankets I'd spread out on the floor. Unscrewed the four screws holding the burner(noting there mounting numbers), then loosened the four bracket mounting screws, which allowed me to rotate the brackets away from the burner. Moved the old burner to the side, and reattached the mounting brackets to the new burner. I then moved each wire from the old burner to the new burner. Re-installed the stove top, and cooked lunch.

One element of the 3 element eye was burned out.
I slid the stove out of the cabinet and removed 6 screws that held the stove top on. I removed 7 wires from the eye that wasn't heating all 3 elements then removed the eye from the stove top by removing 8 screws holding the element in suspension. I used an ohm meter to test the 3 elements and found that the center most element that wasn't heating had an open. I ordered the new element and replaced when received.

burned out element
slide stove all the way out. Remove front, then top, unhooking two wiring harnesses. Took pictures of existing wires to make sure to get back in same place. Pull element wire connections off. Replaced element and reconnected. Fairly easy.

Heating element not working correctly
The repair is only half the battle... for hands-on homeowners.

The repair went very well! Not only was the clear speaking PERSON on the phone extremely helpful, we saved MONEY, functional DIAGRAMS on the web to assist in finding the part you need, the part was DELIVERED in a timely manner, directly to our home.

Before I found PartSelect; I fought mandatory email inquiries for the part, proposed in-home service visited scheduled sometime between 8-5, unrecognizable speaking person… these issues left me rubbing my head to soothe a headache that had just started and the part had not even been ordered… Anyone will look back on their experience with PartSelect and feel they have just returned from a wonderful restful vacation. THANKS!

We could only get 2 of the 3 elements in the triple element to heat.
Remove 2 screws on the front underside of the cooktop surface. Then disconnect the 3 separate wire bundles to the cooktop. Placed the cooktop upside down on a padded surface. Removed 3 year old son from trying to get into the oven. Removed six nuts from the defective burner and removed the burner. Replaced the defective burner with the new burner and replaced the six screws which hold the burner in place. Removed 3 year old son from the countertop next to the range and re-connected the 3 separate wiring harnesses. Placed cooktop back in place and replaced the two cooktop screws. Removed 3 year old son from underneath my feet and turned on the new burner. Perfect! All three elements of the triple burner worked.
This was the best experience I've ever had with ordering parts on-line. The product arrived in 3 days as promised and the repair was simple AND I didn't have to pay for a repair technician to come out and tell me the burner was defective, wait for him to get around to ordering it, getting him to come back and actually perform the repair and of course paying for the privilege of his services! Now if I could only find a way to repair my wayward 3 year old son!! Thanks - I'll be back here when the dishwasher dies!

only the outer ring of the elements would heat up.
I had to remove the screws that held the range top in place. Next just removed the existing element (leaving the wiring in place). Replace wires one at a time and then placed all the screws on the new element.

Hello Carl, thank you for contacting us. Please reset the range to get the heat selection setting to normal. If this does not help, the oven temperature sensor, part number PS1570174, is likely to be defective. A faulty surface element infinite switch, part number PS11744412, can also cause this problem as it is the switch that turns the element on and off. You can investigate both parts for functionality via a multimeter. If both are functional and the problem persists, the control board is defective. If you would like assistance placing an order, please contact customer service. Good luck with your repair!
