After paying a repair man $80 to come out and tell me the issue was related to poor water pressure, I had a plumber replace our original water line with a copper line. $250 later, the problem was not fixed. The plumber did however tell me that the issue was likely with the solenoid valve on the refrigerator. I started doing some internet research on replacing a solenoid valve and came across the the instructional videos from PartSelect on YouTube. Watching the video made me realize just how easy it would be to replace this part (I consider myself somewhat handy but have never had any experience repairing a refrigerator). After typing in my fridge model number on parts select, and reading through the list of common issues, I was reasonably sure that this part would fix my issues. PartSelect return policy also made me feel comfortable that if the part did not work, I could easily return it. I ordered the part from PartsSelect and had it within a day. It took me about 20 minutes to replace the part, including vacuuming the backside of the fridge and cleaning underneath it. Overall, the repair process could not have been much easier.
