I noticed Maytag no longer uses these lid pins on the newer model washers, the reason is simple, they suck. The lid on our washer became so sloppy that we had to use a tupperware lid wedged in the washer lid to start the cycle. The tupperware lid method worked for quite a while until the lid cam wore out a we had to use a chopstick wedged on top of the lid cam to start the washing cycle. Finally I decided it was time to fix the washer so I ordered the parts from partselect and fixed it myself. My wife has never been happier, so couldn't make the chopstick work.
