After replacement of burner element to no joy, ordered and replaced the infinite switch control. Turned off and tagged range circuit breaker. Lifted top range surface and propped up. Removed screws of control panel back cover and removed cover exposing the front panel control switches and wiring. Tested for any voltage on exposed connectors with multimeter. Noted that replacement switch and old switch had different connector physical layout. Drew a layout of both switch connectors on paper noting that while connector tabs were in different locations the labels of each connection was clearly labeled and matched. Pulled off the knob from old switch and removed the two screws holding it on front control panel. Pulled old switch out at the back of the panel. Then using needle nose pliers pulled one connector at a time from old switch and moved to new switch matching labeled connectors. Reinstalled new switch, back cover, lowered range surface top, turned breaker back on, and new burner control works great.
