I pried out the plastic cover on the front of the timer knob using the head of a nail. The timer knob was held on by a nut which I removed. After removing the timer knob and associated parts I removed the two screws holding on the dryer timer. I then removed four screws on the top of the dryer (two on each side). I tilted the control panel forward to expose the dryer timer. The new timer looked different than the timer in the dryer but I followed the color code on the contacts to move the wires from the old timer to the new timer. I put everything back together and the dryer works great.
